We were reading really good books in English such as Of Mice and Men and To Kill a Mockingbird. I loved each story, but we always had work to do along with reading the book. During quarantine, reading was how I helped pass the time. I love being immersed in a book especially when you can't stop turning the pages. However, in the past few months as my life became busier I stopped prioritizing reading. I did go through a phase during middle school when I despised reading. The times where I am watching TV shows on Netflix or videos on YouTube used to be spent reading a book. However, I wouldn't say that this is the sole reason as to why I haven't picked up a book for pleasure in a while. I think a large part of the reason why I haven't read a book for pleasure in a while is due to the fact that my experiences with reading a book for a class has sort of made the idea of reading unsatisfactory and boring. I honesty have not had any time. Although, I would say "easy" visual entertainment has contributed to why I do not read as much. When reading books in the past, I used to have to imagine the visuals, with no actual definition of media.
