No one is brave enough to challenge them. If local safeties, such as polices or judges, try to stop them, they often get murdered.In the 1800’s lots of Italian immigrants moved to the United States. They picked th pourest areas of big cities. The immigrants needed protection from other residents. Local polices took advantages of those who could not speak english. The mafia came along with the Italians. It became the route authorities in some places.
