You can support your child at home by reading them a range of stories surrounding different job roles and people who help us throughout our community. It would be a great opportunity to expand their knowledge on what they envision a hero or heroine to be.

To help nurture your child's imagination and foster a love of reading, be sure to read a variety of stories together and discuss what you've read. Talk about the characters and key events in the story. Each week, your child will continue to bring home library books for you to read to them. This is a great opportunity to engage with your child, ask questions about the story, and explore different themes and ideas together.

You can support your child’s learning at home by discussing what job or role you or a family member may have and what it entails, discussing what it contributes to the community.

You should also design and make a superhero costume with your child using different fabrics and materials. This will give them a chance to be creative and use their imagination!

• Children must come to school wearing the correct uniform each day. Please refer to the school website to see what the uniform should look like:  https://www.wexhamprimary.com/page/?title=Uniform&pid=93 Please label all items of clothing with your child’s name 

• Please send in wellington boots and spare clothes to keep in school labelled with your child’s name.

• Homework will be sent out and returned every Monday. Parents are to show children the phonics videos which are sent out each week via Teams. 

• Library books will be given out and returned every Friday so please ensure you send the old book in to be changed. If your child loses or damages a school book there will be a charge of £5. 

Additionally, the children will begin to understand the difference between odd and even numbers, combine two groups of objects, and order items by height and length. They will also work on ordering the days of the week and measuring the height of cubes. The children will also begin to name 3D shapes and explore their properties.

You can support your child at home by discussing what dreams are. Discuss the importance of having dreams and what it might feel like to achieve your goals.

Talk about different dreams children may have i.e. becoming a artist, doctor, dentist, pilot etc. Discuss goals they will need to set and achieve to make their dreams come true.
