G6C - WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF PLASTICS IN THE OCEANS? (BOYS) by

•	Choose a Plastic Product: Select a commonly used plastic product in your household, such as a plastic water bottle, plastic bag, or packaging from a snack.
•	Research the Product: Look at the product and note any recycling symbols or information about the type of plastic (e.g., PET, HDPE).
o	Briefly research what this type of plastic is commonly used for and why it is chosen for these purposes.
•	Trace the Lifecycle: Think about where this product came from (manufacturing and distribution) and how it came to be in your home.
•	Predict what will happen to it after you dispose of it. Will it be recycled, end up in a landfill, or possibly in the ocean?
•	Write a short paragraph on the potential environmental impact if the plastic is not properly disposed of.
•	Suggest one way to reduce this impact, such as recycling, using alternatives, or reusing the product.
•	Reflection: Share what you found most surprising or important during this activity.

Plastic bottles.Plastic bottles are made of polypropylene, polystyrene, and sometimes low-density polyethylene. They use polypropylene because it has a higher heat resistance, allowing it to withstand higher temperatures without deforming. Established in 1949, Cutco is the largest manufacturer of kitchen cutlery in North America. Trucks and freight vehicles ship plastic cutlery in order to distribute the product (Kadekar). These vehicles run on natural gas- fossil fuels that are, again, being consumed at a much faster rate than the earth can produce. It will hurt the environment if not recycled. And it’s bad.We need to recycle plastic cutlery
