Cherry went on to talk about how she and Ponyboy have a relation about how they both like the sunset and how they are both alike, although different in many ways. Earlier before the beginning of Chapter 9, Johnny was dignified, face to face with his mother. He did not find security with her, though, so he tended to want to hide from her. The doctors did not force him to see his mother so they escorted him out with the other boys. That is a basic summary of Chapter 8 and a basic representation of what I remember in the chapter overall.
