• Coming to the breakfast reading session with our granddaughter Kayleigh - sitting and reading together whilst enjoying the breakfast provided.

• Seeing our grandson Jack enter school via a mini assault course which meant he was focussed on that and not leaving Mum - brilliant idea!

• Watching Kayleigh on the Graduation Parade through Oxley - what a great way to move to senior school.

• Being a volunteer listening to children read & seeing their confidence and ability grow.

• Helping to organise and monitor the library with a tremendous array of books the children are able to enjoy.

• Feeling welcomed into the school & being a part of a very special community where our grandchildren have thrived and developed both educationally and emotionally.

I loved being part of Team Oxley and continue to enjoy watching where former pupils have moved on to.

I was part of the team for over 6 years and I learned so much during my time there. A highlight for me was the first Year 6 residential that I went on to Kingswood (Sunday-Friday!) and being able to attend the National Teaching Awards!

I have nothing but fond memories of the staff, children and their families.

Also a special shout out to Mrs Hansford, who was his year 6 teacher, she was magnificent with him, and we danced in the playground when he recieved his SAT results.

Happy Birthday OPA 🥳

I remember the Christmas wonderlands we created together: corridors transformed into snowy scenes, twinkling lights guiding the way to Santa’s grotto, and reindeer (some real, some very convincingly costumed!) bringing delight to students in the morning - it was more than festive cheer; it was family.

Another Oxley Park tradition was the  morning haka—performed with such passion and pride—it was a moment of unity and difference .

One of the greatest privileges of my career was teaching in the very place my own children were nurtured. To walk the same corridors  they did, to see them in the playground and devouring hot lunches!

I loved mentoring newly qualified teachers, to help them find their footing and flourish.

Serving as Assistant Principal albeit for a short time was an honor. It gave me the chance to lead with heart, to support staff and students alike, and to help shape a culture of kindness, excellence, and unity.

And then, the send-off. Oh, the send-off! When my family and I prepared to move to Australia, I expected hugs and goodbyes. What I received was a celebration I’ll never forget. The entire school dressed as kangaroos, koalas, and everything wonderfully Australian. There were cork hats, Vegemite sandwiches, and even a didgeridoo or two. It was wild, it was warm, and it was deeply moving.

Oxley park is a place of belonging. A place where you can challenge ‘normal’, a place of celebration  and where you never truly say goodbye.

Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the magic. And thank you for letting me be part of something so extraordinary.

I’m so thankful that my children became part of the Oxley Park family — what a blessing it has been! 💛

Joining midway wasn’t easy; it took time for them to find their feet.

But with the love, patience, and guidance of amazing teachers and staff,

my two little ones have grown and flourished in ways I could only hope for.

I’m deeply grateful to the teachers who recognised Charis and Carson’s efforts —

both of them received the Golden Thread Awards, and our hearts are bursting with pride! 🥰
