I am choosing The Great Gatsby as my Noir theme story because there is a very intricate plot, stark lighting and a cynical hero's. This story also takes place in the early 1920's which is the perfect timeline for when most of these stories take place and really came to light.

The characters are typically plagued by a threatening feeling, a fear enhanced by the unknown and often the plot itself is built around a mystery, such as unknown parentage, a disappearance, or some other inexplicable event.

Bearskin

I chose bearskin as my Gothic Story because the main character at the beginning and throughout has this underlying feeling of the unknown. And is always very aware of an inexplicable event in which he would not be alive as he would have given his soul to the devil. This story also is taking place within the 19th century which is the perfect timeline for the Gothic theme.

One of the biggest similarities in these stories is about the main character they both started out poor and then ended up rich. Both stories also involve death with very big supporting characters of the main characters.

The ways the supporting characters die and the curse put upon Bearskin that Gatsby does not have. Another big difference is on how they get rich and the life they lived before getting rich was similar but the life after was very different.
