         <title>dualingo as a technological tool for learning a language - Salazar Cruz Miguel Angel</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Through technology, tools are being developed that help with linguistic, communicative, and academic skills. Duolingo is an application that has been helping us with these skills; it uses innovative technology to teach languages interactively and effectively.</p><p>Duolingo has proven to be a popular and effective tool for improving academic language skills. It has achieved this through interactive methods that make learning engaging and effective for many users. However, it is important to note that Duolingo is a complementary tool and does not replace learning in a formal academic environment.</p><p>I have been using this tool for around 108 days. I opened my account in 2019 to learn German, and since it was my only tool for learning German, I stopped using it because it was even more boring before. There were no rewards or leagues back then. Now I am learning English; the course is divided into A1, A2, B1, and B2 levels, and since I just started, I am in A1 stage 3.&nbsp;</p><p>I feel it is an entertaining tool, although it does not help me as much as I would like. It can improve my vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension a bit. It's tedious that they only teach you words, ignoring grammar. It is a very slow and limited form of learning since there is no C1 or C2 level. It's better than not studying at all, and it is a free tool with limitations.</p><p><br/></p><p>A study shows the lack of interest generated in those who use the tool. It should be updated and strategies should be created to maintain interest.</p><p>In summary, technologies like Duolingo have proven to be valuable tools for improving academic language skills in the field of psychology. It is essential to continue exploring and using these technologies critically to achieve comprehensive development in this field.</p><p><br></p><blockquote><ul><li><p>Potuck, M.          <description><![CDATA[<blockquote><p>Interactive whiteboards are educational tools that have combined the functionality of a traditional whiteboard with digital technology. These devices have allowed users to project images from a computer or another device and manipulate them directly on the touchscreen. This technology has had the potential to transform teaching and learning by offering a more dynamic and interactive experience.  In the realm of language skills, interactive whiteboards have been a powerful tool for developing competencies in both reading and writing. Through the use of interactive and multimedia activities, students have been able to actively engage in exploring texts, identifying key vocabulary, and practicing grammar. For example, teachers have been able to project literary texts or journalistic articles on the interactive whiteboard and guide students through reading comprehension exercises, vocabulary analysis, and discussions about the content.  Teachers have been gradually integrating this technology into their classrooms in recent years. They have been experimenting with different pedagogical approaches and have been observing how students have been engaging more actively in learning when they have had the opportunity to interact with content directly and practically.  They have been designing lessons that capitalize on the multimedia capabilities of the whiteboard, such as projecting videos, audio recordings, and interactive presentations, to create a more stimulating and appealing learning environment. Additionally, they have been using online collaboration tools to foster active student participation and promote teamwork in developing language skills.  Pros:  1.Interactivity: Interactive whiteboards have allowed for active student participation in the learning process, making them more engaged and motivated. 2.Multimedia Resources: They have integrated a variety of multimedia resources, such as videos, images, and audio, to enrich lessons and have made them more interesting and understandable for students. 3.Collaboration: They have been facilitating collaboration among students by allowing them to work together on interactive activities and projects in the same digital space. 4.Customization: Teachers have been able to easily adapt lesson content according to students’ needs and skill levels, promoting more individualized learning. 5.Instant Feedback: Students have been able to receive immediate feedback on their work, enabling them to correct mistakes and improve more effectively.  Cons:  1.Cost: Interactive whiteboards have been expensive to acquire and install, which has posed a barrier to their implementation in some schools or educational institutions. 2.Technical Requirements: They have required a certain level of technological infrastructure, including computers, software, and internet connection, which has been a challenge in environments with limited resources. 3.Learning Curve: Both for teachers and students, there has been an initial learning curve in becoming familiar with the technology and in learning to use all its features effectively. 4.Technological Dependence: There has been a risk that teachers have relied too heavily on technology and have neglected other equally important teaching methods, such as face-to-face interaction and group work. 5.Technical Limitations: Sometimes technical issues, such as software failures or connection problems, have arisen, which have disrupted the flow of the class and have negatively affected the learning experience.  In conclusion, interactive whiteboards have offered an innovative approach to developing language skills by combining digital technology with effective pedagogical practices.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Artificial intelligence (AI) has been seen as a sector in the field of computing that has focused on the development of systems and technologies capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence. The objective of these intelligences has been that they have tried to recreate cognitive processes. humans, such as reasoning, learning, perception, pattern recognition, problem solving, and decision making.</p><p><br/></p><p>Thanks to the fact that they have recreated these cognitive processes, they have covered and have had an endless number of approaches, among them has been the development of learning and language, academically speaking, they have been a powerful tool that, if used well, has helped develop all types of skills you need.</p><p><br/></p><p>The development of skills has been possible thanks to the fact that artificial intelligence has had many functions that have provided feedback. An example of this could have been the analysis of texts and even its interpretation. It has also been capable of generating educational content for the user and its most important point. strong (speaking from a personal perspective) has been that the learning process has been personal, what I have meant is that learning has adapted to what the student has needed to learn.</p><p><br/></p><p>However, just as it has had its benefits, it has had its disadvantages. Actually, since it has been a relatively new technology, it has had quite a few weak points. These have been a technology that has still been in development. Another problem it has had has been that the information it has provided has not been reliable in its nature. Totality and the main problem has been that despite imitating a human being, there has been that lack of interaction that one has had with a real person, even making it so that sometimes the information has not been being understood well as it has been so dehumanized.</p><p><br/></p><p>In conclusion, AI can have been a double-edged sword depending on how it has been being used, it can have been helping you develop your skills or it can have been delaying the development of the same skills.</p><ul><li><p><em>Inteligencia Artificial: Qué es y Por Qué Importa</em>.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Imagine an assistant that not only plays music but also helps you learn English has been imagined. That is what the Echo has been, transforming how technology and language are used.</p><p>Games for learning new words have been featured by the Echo. They have been practiced in different languages. It has been both fun and easy.</p><p>Assistance in reading, writing, and understanding English better has been provided by the Echo. Stories have been listened to, and learning has occurred. It has been like reading a book with more talking.</p><p>If homework or tests have been there, the Echo has been there to help study. It has been like a study buddy that is always available.</p><p>The Echo has had lots of interesting facts and books. Every day, wanting to learn more has been experienced. It has been like a gateway to a world of knowledge.</p><p>The Echo has been easy to use. It has changed to fit what is needed. It has not been just for music; it has been for learning too. With the Echo, starting the day by asking about the weather or playing favorite songs has been common. Then, switching to learning mode has occurred. Asking it to teach a new word or give a math problem to solve has been great for learners of all ages.</p><p>This Echo not been just any device. It has been a magic box that talks. It has made learning fun, not boring. Using it every day has led to improvement in English. Talking to it; it listens and talks back.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has emerged as an innovative technique  </p><p>with the potential to transform the development of linguistic and academic skills in  the field of psychology. This non-invasive technique uses magnetic pulses to  </p><p>modulate brain activity, offering a unique window to understand and enhance  </p><p>cognitive and linguistic function.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the realm of linguistic skill development, TMS has been used to investigate and  </p><p>potentially improve language comprehension and production. By targeting specific  </p><p>regions of the brain involved in language processing, researchers can explore how  </p><p>linguistic skills are formed and consolidated, as well as identify possible  </p><p>interventions to enhance them in individuals with language disorders or learning  </p><p>difficulties.</p><p><br/></p><p>In academic terms, TMS has also shown to have a significant impact. By  </p><p>modulating brain activity related to cognitive functions such as memory, attention,  </p><p>and problem-solving, this technique offers new opportunities to improve academic  </p><p>performance in areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics. For example,  </p><p>TMS has been used to investigate the effectiveness of interventions aimed at  </p><p>improving reading comprehension in children with reading difficulties, as well as to explore how study and learning strategies can be optimized in college students.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Pros:</strong></p><ol><li><p>Non-invasive: TMS is a non-invasive technique that does not require surgery or  incisions, making it safer and less risky than other invasive neurological  </p><p>treatments.</p></li><li><p>Therapeutic potential: TMS has been shown to have therapeutic applications in  a variety of mental and neurological disorders, such as depression, schizophrenia, and Parkinson's disease.</p></li><li><p>Advanced research: TMS allows researchers to study and better understand the functioning of the human brain, which can lead to significant advances in the treatment of brain and neurological disorders.</p></li><li><p>Precision: TMS can target specific areas of the brain with unprecedented precision, allowing doctors and researchers to modulate brain activity selectively.</p></li></ol><p><strong>Cons:</strong></p><ol><li><p>Side effects: Although generally considered safe, TMS can cause temporary side effects such as headache, discomfort at the stimulation site, and seizures in rare cases.</p></li><li><p>Technical limitations: The ability of TMS to penetrate deep areas of the brain is  </p><p>limited, which can hinder its effectiveness in treating certain neurological disorders.</p></li><li><p>Cost and access: TMS can be costly and is not always available in all medical  </p><p>centers, limiting access to this form of treatment for some individuals.</p></li><li><p>Ethics and regulation: There are ethical and regulatory concerns about the use  </p><p>of TMS, especially in terms of its application in vulnerable populations and its  potential for misuse or unauthorized modification of human.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p>In summary, TMS represents a powerful tool for investigating and enhancing the  </p><p>development of linguistic and academic skills in individuals of all ages.
