On the 28th of august I enrolled for travel and tourism level 3 and brought my GCSE results. It developed my communication skills by allowing me to present myself in a respectable manor. I answered all questions during the interview confidently, however I could have been less nervous and a little bit earlier to allow myself time to prepare.

On the 4th of September I started college and participated in team building exercises. this developed my communication as we need to plan and organize how to do the task, and work together to get the best out come. I communicated with new students well and made new friends. However I could have spoken up more and contributed more ideas.

I have a part time job at hare and hounds as a waitress which involves dealing with customers and meeting there needs. This helped develop my communication as I need to listen carefully in order to help people in the best way I can. I communicate with customers well and create a warm environment. However I could be more organized as when it is busy I am rushing round.

During induction at college we was forced to participate in team building exercises, as a icebreaker to get to know our new class mates. We had to work as a team to move types around the field and build a pyramid before the other teams. In order to do this we all had to be touching the type to move it and only the team leaders could speak. Therefore this was teamwork as we all had o use our strengths to beat the other team.

At my part time job it is crucial to use teamwork throughout the shift as we all use the different aspects of our job to create a wonderful outing for the customer, this requires communication, coordination and teamwork throughout. Without teamwork me and all the other employees would get confused and make mistakes. therefore at my part time job teamwork is key.

On a Monday morning in Saffron lesson we had to work as a team to create a class quilt we all had to individually make a card with our names on and a fact on the back, we then had to arrange all of them so the card saying 'travel and tourism group A' was in the middle, to do this we had to work together to stick all of the cards together this used teamwork, communication and listening to others so we can all help each other and successfully make a quilt out of paper.

three days a week i am motivated to come to college and be on time early in a morning this shows how i am motivated to come to college and learn. being on time for college develops my motivation as it helps me to wake up early in the morning.

I have taken orders with customers and ensured their order has ben given to the chefs with all the correct meals and changes added so that everyone receives what they ordered, everything went well as all the members of the party received all their food with no mistakes, if there were any mistakes I would've corrected them immediately and apologised for any inconvenience. I would not change much about this interaction as it all ran smoothly and everyone was satisfied with the service provided. from this I achieved good customer service skills and how to calmly interact with customers.

I have also taken part in a charity event for Barnsley hospice which consisted of buying/making cakes and sweet treats then selling them and raising money for Barnsley hospice. overall this went really well leading to us selling lots of treats and raising over £180 and raising awareness for Barnsley hospice. if I was to do this again I would try to reach a wider audience to make more people interested in the charity. from this I achieved voluntary work which can be used on my cv to show my dedication and good skills.

finally my last piece of evidence for work experience is that I manage and work the front of house this is a very important role as I must ensure all customers have an enjoyable experience and have paid their bill in full. I am more than successful at this as I ensure the customers wellbeing as well as making conversation and making them feel more comfortable to create a more wholesome environment for all customers. if I was to do this again I would attempt to be more alert at times and tend to customers needs at fast as I can. from this I achieved and developed my customer service skills this makes me more experienced in dealing with other customers.

Travel practical assessment

For my college course you are required to participate in many different practical assessments to finish the course and receive your grade at the end of it. recently we took part in a practical which is called assessment day where we had to answer a set of interview questions which included things which are relevant to you as a person and experience you have which can help you in this job role. Before this I was nervous and quickly going over my notes so that I was prepared for the interview. we then had to show how we can safety and quickly close overhead cabins and secure the crew seat. we had to explain the visions and values of the company we was interviewing for and present our self as smart and confident. during this assessment I was focused on completing the interview and answering all question to the best of my ability. After this i was relived that it was over and I also felt happy as we passed this and I was less stressed.
