Come and learn about the earliest cars, the cars of the today and possible cars of the future in this lesson. If you dig in deep, you will be surprised about the evolution of the cars since their invention.

The oldest recovered boat in the world is the PeeseErectus lived through the Ice Age(s), a period of repeated glaciations, each lasting about 200,000 years, separated by warm spells. At the extreme, glaciers covered up to 30% of the world's land mass and tied up huge volumes of water resulting in the sea level dropping 100 m or more. This created temporary land passages between islands and continents. At some point, England was connected to Europe, Siberia to Alaska and parts of Indonesia linked to mainland Asia.

In time, Erectus spread out of Africa into Asia, but as he did not wear clothes, he stayed close to the equator. Erectusreached the Indonesian archipelago as early as 800,000 years ago. We know this because stone tools dated to that period and typical of Erectus have been found on the Island of Flores - between Bali and Timor. Although Erectus could have reached Bali by trekking over land bridges; migration beyond Bali to Flores required a minimum of 10 important sea crossings of up to 100 km and could not have occured by accident [Ref1]. The conclusion is that Homo Erectus built seaworthy craft 600,000 years before the first Homo Sapiens appeared on earth

They've been used since ancient times to transport goods, for trading, and to transport soldiers . The Egyptians had their reed rafts and the Vikings had their Longboats.
The first boats were made in the early centuries human society. They were logs hollowed out used as canoes, used for fishing by the cave people. Later on boats would evolve into rafts, then large deadly fighting machines. Old War Ships After a while people started to realize they could use the ships for war. when they figured this out they made changes and add thing to the ships. Most groups added sails so the ships could move faster. Groups like the Greeks had many huge paddles that crewmen used to move the boats across the water. They would try to board and take over the other groups boat in war. Or they would ram into the sides of the other boats to disable it and make it sink. Some groups only used military ships to transport soldiers and weapons. Later groups like the Vikings used their ships for both. Their ships were called longboats, light, fast but still strong, you could call it the ultimate war ship. Until we made ours. Boats in the renaissance era were a lot more advanced then the other boats we've talked about. This is when Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas with his fleet of 3 large ships

While the earliest boats date back approximately 10,000 years, they were simple vessels made from tying logs together or hollowing them out. The first real ships are believed to have been created by the Ancient Egyptians, starting around 4000 BC and gradually developing into more complex vessels. They began as river boats, with a mast and sails, and grew into ships that could cover oceans.

From the 2nd century onwards, the Chinese were making advances in their shipbuilding, with the creation of stern mounted rudders and water tight compartments. During this era, many countries saw the necessity of having a large fleet of ships for trade and battle The development of the compass in this period also made navigation far easier than it had previously been.

The renaissance period saw new developments with multiple masts, bow and stern towers and a small and nimble Portuguese ship called a caravel. Many ships increased their freeboard, allowing for a greater onboard artillery. This was seen in the growth of galleons, which were ships with multiple decks and a versatility that enabled them to be used as warships or for trading

By about 5000BCE, there were sledges and there were animal "engines"—so the obvious thing to do was hitch them togetherThe next big step was to Every so often, steam from a boiler (a sort of gigantic coal-fired kettle) squirted into the space in the cylinder underneath the pistonadd wheels and turn sledges into carA car is like a cart with a built-in horse—a horse-less carriage that doesn't eat grass, wear shoes, or leave a steaming pile of muck wherever it goes. The engineers who set out to make the first cars had a big problem on their hands: how to squeeze the power of a galloping horse into a small, reliable engine. Lenoir died a miserable pauper because his engines, though revolutionary, were soon obsolete. Gas was a cleaner fuel than coal, but it wasn't practical—there was even a risk it would explode and kill people. Gasoline (a liquid fuel) proved to be a better bet, as German Nikolaus Otto (1832–1891) discovered. Otto was no scientific thinker—far from it: he was a traveling grocery salesman who taught himself engineering. During the 1860s, he tinkered with various engine designs and, in 1876, finally came up with a really efficient gasoline engine, which worked by methodically repeating the same four steps (or "strokes") over and over again. Virtually every car engine has worked the same way ever since.

Boats continued to get larger as the years went on. During these times huge transport ships were created to bring people to America. Discovered the Americas with his fleet of 3 large ships. The Santa Maria, Punta, and Nina were the 3 ships he used in the 1400s to discover the "new world". The Santa Maria was 60 feet long and about 100 tons, it was the type of ship known as a Carrack. Nina and Punta were both 50 feet long and weighed about 60 tons they were the type of ships known as Caravels We also have fishing boats that are used to bring in seafood. Our military has large aircraft carriers and battleships with oversized cannons

Besides that boats now are mostly used for entertainment purposes like fishing and hanging out with friends and family on the ocean. I believe boats in the future will be larger and more luxurious. when they figured this out they made changes and add thing to the ships.

In 1893, the first running, gasoline-powered American car was built and road-tested by the Duryea brothers of Springfield, Massachusetts. Beginning in the 1770s, many people tried to make cars that would run on steam. Some early steam cars worked well, and some did not. Some were fire pumpers that moved by themselves, and others were small locomotives with road wheels. Beginning in the 1880s, inventors tried very hard to make cars that would run well enough to use every day. These experimental cars ran on steam, gasoline, or electricity.

By the 1890s, Europeans were buying and driving cars made by Benz, Daimler, Panhard, and others, and Americans were buying and driving cars made by Duryea, Haynes, Winton, and others. By 1905 gasoline cars were more popular than steam or electric cars because they were easier to use and could travel further without adding fuel.
