To be honest, I'm so nervous thinking about this ibadah camp since I don't have many friends, but thanks to Allah, I found my usrah friends who really like to interact and fun ! It is a new experience for me to implement Qiamullail prayer at the mosque. Apparently, it's not that bad. So, during the ibdah camp, we learn three (3) things. Firstly, Iqra' and Amanah. Secondly, Self-reflection (Rahmatan Lil Alamin). Lastly, 'Khair' in Action.

Iqra' and Amanah (Trust)

T - Trust in Divine Wisdom

R - Resilience

U - Unexpected Obstacles

S - Seeking Genuine Guidance

T - Thoughtful Engagement

Therefore, we should take care of our amanah towards Allah, Oneself, Other people or society, Other creations, and also Nature.

Self-reflection (Rahmatan Lil Alamin)

'Khair' in Action

Kh - Khalifah (vicegerant or steward) : based governance.

A - Amanah : based implementation.

I - Iqra' (the first commandment of Allah for the Muslims) : development of latest knowledge and technology.

R - Rahmatan Lil Alamin : all inclusive Rahmatan Lil Alamin development.

Hadith Jibril

Today, we learn about Hadith Jibril in more detail by examining and appreciating the verses of the hadith. So, who is Jibril ? According to the hadith, Jibril is a man that dressed in extremely white clothes and very black hair. Thus, no one knows Him. The hadith tells the story of Jibril where he came to the Prophet to ask some questions, at the same time justify the answer given by the Prophet. Moreover, the hadith touches on three things which are the pillars of Islam, the pillars of Iman and also the sign of Hour.

The pillars of Islam (5)

Recite two words of kalimah shahadah

Perform five times of prayer

Fasting in Ramadan

Pay zakat

Perform Hajj

The pillars of Iman (6)

Belief in Alllah

Belief in the angels

Belief in the Books

Belief in the Prophets

Belief in the Day of Judgement

Belief in God's predestination (al-qaḍāʾ wa l-qadar)

The signs of Hour

Consequently, there are four major lessons that can be learned through the hadith Jibril.

To be reliable and loyal

- For example, Saidina Omar not only focused in worshipping Allah, but also knowing and aware or caring about the surrounding situation in life.

To have manners

- For instance, the decent apparel showed by Malaikat Jibril.

- Sheikh Abd Al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah said Adab is very important because it is the outward display and message to people as to what the faith is.

Have balance spiritually, physically and intelectually

- Islam : cultural actions of our faith

- Iman : intellectual foundation that He have

- Ihsan : worship as if you see Him, even though you don't, you know that he sees you.

Understanding that there's limits to knowledge

- Greatest destruction that destroy humans occured because we don't recognise our limits to our knowledge.

Overall, the class was fun too, although at first some people including me were a bit awkward to interact in the class. However, over time, everyone get used to getting along with each other even a little. Moreover, at the end of each class, there must be an activity such as answering questions related to the learning of the day. As a result, the class become more lively and enthusiastic to do a task or activity well together with group members. In terms of the facilitator which is Rara, she is very enthusiastic and good at teaching in front of the class. Other than that, she is also not arrogant when imparting knowledge to us. Besides, she also learns together with us in the class. However, I hope Rara will be more punctual in starting classes and fine those who are late attend the class without a reasonable reason. For me, it is unfair when other students can come late to class at their will, affecting and disrupting others students' concentration but no action is taken. But overall, Rara is a very sporting facilitator and does't mind to help other students with the task given in the class.

Other than that, I also got to improve myself to be a good Muslim and obey to Allah, at the same time getting pleasure from Him either in this world or in the Hereafter by practicing what we have learned throughout the usrah class. Moreover, I had the opportunity to build relationships with friends from other courses and we were able to go through learning sessions together. One more thing, I was able to increase my self-confidence and also improve my soft skills little by little through this class, especially when participating in camp worship where there were other usrah groups. Last but not least, I really enjoy and have fun with this class and hope to meet other friends at the next usrah.

The virtues of zakat

For today, we already learned about the virtues that we can get through zakat. What is zakat ? Zakat is a form of obligatory charity in Islam. It is one of the five pillars of Islam and aims to purify one’s wealth, promote social justice, and reduce poverty and inequality. It reminds Muslims that wealth is a trust from Allah and must be shared with the less fortunate. At the end of class, my group presented our poster on the benefits of good intentions.

Trust in Allah (توكل)
- When a person gives zakat, they are letting go of a part of their wealth with full faith that Allah will bless and replace it.

- This act strengthens tawakkul which means rusting that provision comes from Allah, not just from personal effort.

- It teaches the giver not to cling to material things and to rely on Allah as the ultimate Provider.

Brotherhood (أخوة)
- Zakat creates a sense of unity and care among the Muslim community.

- It builds ukhuwwah which is a strong bond of brotherhood by reducing the gap between the rich and the poor.

- When wealth is shared sincerely, it brings hearts closer, strengthens relationships and promotes compassion and solidarity among people.

Overall, this class was fun even though from the beginning to the end everyone didn't interact and communicate much in the class. However, this class still ran smoothly and everyone was able to receive knowledge comprehensively. In addition, every beginning of the class there must be activities such as questions and answers. As a result, the class became easier to understand by all students. In terms of the facilitator, he had extensive knowledge and was not arrogant when conveying knowledge.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my portfolio for the second Usrah ! I’m now in my third semester and to be honest, it has been quite a rollercoaster. The workload is overwhelming and the subjects are really challenging because sometimes I feel like I’m going a little crazy trying to keep up. But despite all the stress and sleepless nights, I keep reminding myself that I’m almost at the finish line. Just a little more to go before I complete my foundation studies here at CFS. No matter how busy or tired we may feel, let’s make time for Usrah and approach these seven weeks with open hearts and sincere intentions. Hopefully, it will be a meaningful journey filled with reflection, growth and positive vibes, in shaa Allah. Let’s do our best together !
