- When we want to ask the lecturers we must ask politely and use a low tone of voice with them.

- This is to ensure that lecturers are not offended when students ask questions about things they do not understand

- From the students perspective, they might think that it's okay to use a high tone when talking to a lecturers or they are worried that the lecturers can't hear them clearly but some of the lecturers might think that this kind of student disrespects them.

- This shows that students should practice this adab to make sure the lecturers know that the students totally respect them and want to ask questions just to increase their knowledge.

This is shown in what has been narrated regarding Zayd bin Thabit R.A. Zayd bin Thabit R.A prayed a funeral prayer, after which, an animal was brought to him so that he could ride it. Ibn 'Abbas R.A came and held the animal to help Zayd bin Thabit R.A mount the animal. Zayd R.A said to him, "Leave that, o cousin of the Messenger of Allah."

Ibn 'Abbas R.A said, "This is how we were commanded to treat the scholars and the elders."

So, Zayd R.A kissed his hand and said, "This is how we were commanded to treat the People of the House of our Prophet S.A.W.

The Prophet S.A.W said, "Adulation is not from the character of the believer, except in seeking knowledge."

Based on this story, it shows that the student should practice adab towards the teacher including being constantly in service to his teacher.
