         <description><![CDATA[<div>Activity: Giving witness statements<br>Aim: the students will become observant when they hear/take part in conversations.<br><br>Skills: watching/ listening  for detail<br>Level: Elementary and above.<br>Materials: A short one-or-two minute conversations in an interesting location.  <br>How to carry out: Using a film extract about the conversation between the police and the witness. The students have to try to give as much information as they can about what they have seen.<br><br>Procedure:<br>1. Tell the students that they are going to watch a video sequence. They should try to remember as much as they can. They are not allowed to take notes.<br><br>2. Play the video sequence. <br><br>3.Put the students in pairs and tell them they have to agree on what they heard and saw.<br><br>4. When the pairs have finished their discussion,read out a series of questions and ask them to write answers.<br>The questions might be like: How many people did you see in the video? What did the man say first? What kind of vehicles were showed in the video<br><br>5. Play the video again so they can check how good they are at being witness.<br><br></div>]]></description>
