It is an insect.
It can fly and it has thorax, abdomen and two sets of wings.
Butterflies drink liquids. Most adults butterflies drink floral nectars but others adults drink liquids from rotten fruits.
The process of reproduction of a butterfly is the metamorphosis:
1. It is a small egg.
2. The caterpillar is the long stage of the butterfly that looks like a worm.
3. It is the stage of feeding and growth.
4. The chrysalis is the stage of transformation during which the tissues of the caterpillar melt and the adult structures of the insect are formed.
5. The adult leaves the chrysalis.
6. ADULT IS THE BUTTERFLY
