1.The Dust Bowl was created by a prolonged period of rainfall that was bellow the average level. The example given in the text is from the 1930s. During this time the native Prairie grasses were plowed, which in turn, contributed to the erosion problem due to the soil becoming loose without the roots to hold it in place. The persistent winds that tend to occur in this area did not help as they formed, "great clouds of soil or dust." and lifted the surrounding materials.
2. The industries that would be impacted the most by the oil spill would be the research industry, fishing industry and as a consequence the food industry. I say this because once the oil got into the water the sea life that lived their was exposed to it and suffered greatly.(In the text it does state; "The spill harmed wildlife and threatened the economy in the region.") That means there would be less fish to fish which would result in less fish to eat and the fish that were being taken from the region were mostly inedible due to the oil. The research industry would also find it hard to find control specimens with the water quality being so poor and the pre-existing oil in the specimens.

In the text it says the drought was caused by "The persistent winds in the area stirred up great clouds of dry soil or dust." this shows that the lack of water caused the land to be dry and when winds came along the dust went everywhere and caused this even caused the Dust Bowl.

1. The dust bowl was caused by a chain reaction. For example, there wasn't enough rainfall for a long amount of time, which caused a drought, and then winds came in the area and swept up all of the dry soil and crops, which was considered the Dust Bowl. The part of the Great Plains that is most likely to drought more is Mexico. This is because on the climate map, it shows that there is mostly dry temperatures that cover the country, so there would be a higher chance of them not getting some of rain for a long period of time.
2. The industries that would be negatively impacted by the oil spill would be the food industry and the fishing industry. This is because when the oil spill happened it got into the water where there was sea life, this oil spill harmed to sea life and could have poisoned the animals. When the animals are poisoned it leads people not being able to eat them, so fishermen can't bring back any food to the land. Which leads that to have a big piece missing for the food industry.

This occured in the 1930's, the native prairer grasses were being plowed which helped hold the soil contributed to soil erosion. I believe that the part of the Great Plains that is most likely to drought would be Mexico. I think this because if you look at the climate map on page 79 in the Natural Geographic textbook it shows that Mexico is a very dry country.
2.The industries that would be negatively impacted by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico would be the fishing industry and the food industry. This is because the oil is built under layers of salt underwater so if there was a spill it would be into the ocean. Now that there a dangerous oils and chemicals in the ocean the fish could become dangerous to eat so the fishing and food company would suffer. They would suffer because nobody would trust eating animals, mainly fish, that have been exposed to something as dangerous as this.

Due to the lack of rain the soil would be very dry. This became known as the dust bowl. The Dust Bowl was a drought that started in the 1930s and lasted several years. On page 80 it says, "Plowing of native prairie grass that helped hold the soil contributed to soil erosion, and the Plains became known as the "Dust Bowl". The part of the Great Plains that are most likely to have droughts is Utah. this is because of it's usual dry temperatures. Also the climate map on page 79 shows that Utah is one of the more arid places.
2. The area that was most effected by the oil spill in the Golf of Mexico is the fishing industry. This is because the oil would pollute the waters and it would be fatal to the fish that are swimming in it. Also it could be dangerous to the fishermen on the boats because one small spark can create a huge fire on the water because of the oil.

1.The Dust Bowl was caused due to a drought that occurred in the 1930"s. This drought lasted several years resulting in killing a large amount of crops. That wasn't the reason the Dust bowl occurred The plowing of the native prairie grasses also had a part in this. The prairie grasses held the soil contributed to the soil erosion so when wing came by it would pick up soil causing the Dust Bowl.
2. The Midwest region would be more drought likely because of the arid and semiarid areas.
3. industries such gas industries would be affected because they need oil so this way they can give gas to vehicles so they can run. Not only industries would be affected. we would also be affected. Without oil we wouldn't be able to heat our homes or power vehicles that we use in our day to day life.

1.The Dust Bowl was caused by below average rainfall also known as drought. In the text it gives an example about how in the 1930s the region experienced a drought that lasted multiple years when the Native prairie grasses were plowed, which contributed to the soil erosion. Mexico is one example of places in the Great Plains that are most likely to experience a drought. On page 78 and 79 if you see the map in the top right corner you could see that it's semi-arid and arid in many parts of those places.

2. The food industries are most likely to be impacted by the droughts because in the text it says that when the oil spill happens, it kills many wild life, so industries like fishing would have a massive decrease. In 2010, human error caused an explosion of a big Deepwater drilling structure, causing a major oil spill.

The plowing of the prairie grasses also took part of this drought. Utah is most likely to have a drought because on page 79 you see it's one of the more arid places on the map.
2.

1. The Dust Bowl was caused by a drought in the 1930's that had lasted for a long period of time. This resulted in numerous crops being killed. I believe that the Gulf of Mexico is most likely to have a drought because on the climate map on page 79, it shows that the Gulf of Mexico is the driest state all year round.
2. The industry in the Gulf of Mexico that would be negatively impacted by the oil spill is the fishing industry because the oil spill sent harm to the wild life causing the industry to lose money fast.

1. The Dust Bowl was caused by a drought in the 1930's that lasted for several years. This drought killed many crops and the plowing of native prairie grasses that held the soil contributed to the erosion of soil. The mid-west area of North America featuring dry climate would be the most likely area for a drought to occur because the area features large masses of arid and semiarid land.
2. The industries negatively impacted by the oil spill would be industries like fishing or tourism to the gulf of mexico. These changes negatively affected the economy of the region in a large way, on page 81 of the Nat-Geo textbook, it says that "the spill harmed wildlife and threatened the economy of the region."
