I have strong political beliefs about what university education should be and that is what decided my topic. I am very interested in the experience of university lecturers, and this is likely to frame my research questions. I am trained as bench scientist so mixed methods is where I am most comfortable.

My positionality is such that my biases are so entrenched and so a part of who I am, it is almost impossible for me to recognise all of them. There are some biases I can be aware of and make explicit but for the ones I can't see and will never know - this is precisely way I need to research and codesign questions with others to spread the bias and balance one another

Given all orientations are equally relevant I need to find a research method that can address each without creating overwhelm.
I believe this is possible using the PADRE method as it incorporates learning into the process (reflexivity) and ensures participation. Its iterative approach also addresses uncertainty/complexity - and I feel the choice of participants is also key in this regard (will be a mix from industry and academia with representation across diverse fields/sectors). Social change will be the motivating force or source of coherence for the group. And engagement and facilitation methods will need to be tailored to ensure empowerment of those typically without voice.
