         <title>WEEK 1 (3-7 March 2025)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>3/3/2025 - Monday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>On the first day, I was asked to report duty at 9:00am to the HR Department.<br>I arrived early and only had to wait a few minutes before my supervisor came and brought me to the HR office.<br>I was given several documents to declare the items did received from the hotel. My supervisor also gave me an employee handbook to read while waiting for my thumbprint registration to be completed. After that, I received an orientation. My supervisor bring us on a tour around the hotel and introduced to the various departments within the hotel. I was assigned to the Human Resources Department, and my working hours are from 8:30am to 5:30pm. According to company policy, office and management staff must work 8 hours per day, not including a 1-hour break.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>4/3/2025 - Tuesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>On the second day of my internship, my supervisor asked me to register SADA and TNB accounts in order to view the hostel’s utility bills. After that, I was assigned to calculate and record the hostel’s monthly utility expenses, including electricity and water usage using excel. The excel already have the format and just key in the data and amount for each tenant know their bill for us to distribute to them. In addition, I prepared a summary of guest reviews from online booking platforms, such as TripAdvisor and <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Booking.com">Booking.com</a> which two of the most commonly used sites by guests when booking rooms at this hotel. This summary was then displayed on the notice board.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>5/3/2025 - Wednesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Created posters to celebrate the first and second work anniversary of staff members for the months of March and April. The posters were designed to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions and dedication of the employees during their tenure at The RIYAZ Lavanya and the poster will displayed at notice board to boost staff morale. After that, En. Fakhrul introduced about the various files managed by the Human Resources department. These include the Intern files, outsource staff files, typhoid &amp; food handler certification files and several other important documents. Last but not least, learned the process do the thumbprint by using the fingerprint scanning system and face detection for new joiners.</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>6/3/2025 - Thursday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Prepared and provided hostel application forms to new staff members who interest to stay at hostel that provide by company. I ensured that each staff member received the form, understood how to fill it out correctly and was informed of the rules and facilities available at the hostel. Next, assisted in conducting the orientation session for new employees with support and guidance from the supervisor. During the orientation, we introduced the company’s basic rules, working culture and all to ensure the new staff had a clear understanding about company policy. After the orientation session was completed, we escorted the new staff throughout the workplace to familiarize them with the different departments. My supervisor explained which departments are located on which levels of the building. Once the  done, I brought the new staff to the uniform room to collect their work uniforms. After the uniforms were collected, I escorted each new staff member to the department where they had been assigned to begin their duties. Last but not least, l also informed the respective supervisors in that department of the new staff.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>7/3/2025 - Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Preparing the Training Report for January 2025. This report included information on the number of training sessions conducted, the list of participants involved, the topics covered during each session and the departments or areas the trainees were assigned to. The purpose of the report was to maintain accurate documentation of staff development  and to monitor the progress during that month.  Next, conduct an orientation session specifically for part-time staff members who were recruited to support the Ramadan buffet. This group included two kitchen staff  and one staff food and beverage (F&amp;B) department.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>8-9/3/2025 -  Saturday &amp; Sunday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Off Day</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>10/3/2025 - Monday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Conduct an orientation  for the part-time staff . During the session, provide them with an overview of their roles, basic safety guideline, and work expectations. After that, distribute their uniforms and bring them to the departments they have been assigned. Update the training report for February 2025. This report should include the total number of training sessions held, the names of the participants who attended and the specific topics covered in each session within the department. This helps track staff development and ensures all required areas are being addressed. Last but not least, display the company’s Vision and Mission statements on the notice board at Level 3. </p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>11/3/2025 - Tuesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Scan the Typhoid and Food Handler Certificate documents for all staff. Rename each file according to the staff member's name for easy identification. Then, organize and list the Typhoid certificate files by department to ensure proper record-keeping and accessibility. Next, export the presentation slides into a video format to be displayed on the TV in the staff cafeteria. This video will help communicate important information or reminders in an engaging and visual way for all staff to see.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>12/3/2025 - Wednesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Prepare the outsource staff file by photocopying each outsourced staff passport and valid work permit. Ensure all documents are clearly labeled and organized for easy reference and compliance purposes.</p><p>My supervisor also explain the process for opening a TNA (Training Needs Analysis) Form. This form must be filled out if there is a plan to conduct training for any staff members. Provide an explanation about the IDB (Industrial Development Board) training. Emphasize that any training planned must be registered with HRD Corp (Human Resource Development Corporation). This ensures that the training is recognized and may qualify for funding or compliance requirements under HRD Corp regulations.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>13/3/2025 - Thursday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Prepared Slide for New Joiners. Organized Files and documents to ensure easy access and better file management. Updated Training Report in Excel which Entered and updated (YTD) Year Training Day for the months of January and February. Ensured the data is accurate and up to date for reporting purposes.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>14/3/2025 - Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Morning briefing and doing orientation to part time worker which being permanent staff at here as a Commis. Update staff listing and also edited poster about vacancy. After that, I checked the <em>menu of the day</em> at the cafeteria and make sure update in staff group whatssap. I also created a job vacancy poster for recruitment. The poster includes basic job details and contact information.</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>18/3/2025 - Tuesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Morning briefing with the HR Manager to discuss and plan the tasks that need to be done. We talked about the priorities and made sure all work is well-organized. Next, preparing a list of staff members who want to get the influenza vaccine. I do the listing by department and email to all Hod Department to make sure their buddies know and give name to take the vaccine. Lastly, distribute <em>Bubur Lambuk in </em>front of staff hostel.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>19/3/2025 - Wednesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Make rounding at Hotel area. Doing calculation of part time job which cut off at 15hb every month.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>20/3/2025 - Thursday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Orientation for part time kitchen at 10.15a.m after that bring to Uniform room and bring to department they have been assigned. I assisted one of the staff members (bellman) in signing all the documents he had previously missed.          <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>21/7/2025 - Monday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Assist the new joiner together with my supervisor, the staff from Engineering Department. Guide him to fill up the form, prepare his locker key, name tag, access card and do the thumbprint registration. After that, l handover him to the new HR Exec to conduct the company orientation. Once finished, I bring him to his department because he already knows about the building access, as he worked here before as a casual worker. Then, l continue with all the pending work from last week, such as preparing the certificate for employee guest reviews, staff appraisals, EAF hostel bills and other tasks.</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>22/7/2025 - Tuesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>I had a briefing with the HR team. At 10:30 a.m., l went to the hostel as a representative from the HR team. The Engineering team wanted to fix a room that had complaints about damages so l was assigned by HR Team to go and monitor the work being done by the Engineering team. The rotation to monitor the Eng team will be rotation among Hr team members. After everything at the hostel was completed, l returned to the office and continued with my usual task of filing. l rechecked and updated the employee files to make sure everything is up to date. Last but not least bring the new Hr Exec to the Receiving department.</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>23/7/2025 - Wednesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>We received instructions from the Security Manager to check the fire extinguishers at the hostel to see if it already expired. If any fire extinguisher is expired, we need to place an order in the IDB System to replace it. The item code for the 9kg powder refill is <strong>54000010</strong> and the code for the Bomba license is <strong>54000032</strong>. Next, l went to the hostel as a representative from the HR team to monitor the Engineering team while they serviced the aircond. Lastly, l update the HR training calendar to make sure all upcoming training sessions are scheduled properly and clearly listed.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>24/7/2025 - Thursday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Prepare key room for hostel to our representative Hr to monitor Eng team. Update the records of staff hostel rooms that have completed    air-conditioner servicing and also update the list of rooms that are currently vacant. Make the necessary preparations to welcome the upcoming Security Day celebration. This process is important to ensure that salary calculations are accurate including any deductions for leave or absences.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>1/8/2025 - Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Check the utility bills for the hostel (Chenang Memories) and prepare the EAF form. After that, recheck all the details to make sure everything is correct, then pass the form to the finance.          <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>11-15/8/2025 - Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>I started my day with a morning briefing with the HR team, where we went over the day’s plans and talked about a few things that need to be done. Next, update Chenang Memories Name List, Typhoid and Handling certificate list. After that, I worked on preparing some important documents and had to quickly sort out an issue with the Spa department, as many of the staff was mc. Held a Townhall to officially welcome our new Hotel Manager. It was a great opportunity for the whole team to come together and show support. I joined the Sales &amp; Marketing Manager for interviews which candidates applying for the Reservation Agent role. Last but not least l give a birthday gift to two of our team members.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>18-22/8/2025 - Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>As part of my responsibilities, I followed up with all departments regarding the submission of their overtime requisition forms, reminding them that all forms must be submitted before payroll processing begins to ensure timely and accurate salary payments. I also updated several important documents that required the Hotel Manager's review and signature, make sure everything was complete and properly formatted to avoid delays. In preparation for payroll, l reviewed and verified the attendance records for all departments for the month of August. l cross-checked the manual records against the system to ensure consistency and accuracy, which is a crucial step before finalizing salaries and allowances. Additionally, l reviewed the Spa Department’s commission form and compared it with the POS (Point of Sale) revenue report. To complete this, l coordinated with the Accounts Receivable Officer to request the necessary financial data, ensuring that the figures aligned correctly before processing any payments. Lastly, l was involved in New employee Orientation that required for Human Resources department to held every month for brief the staff because of the new regulation from property. This orientation serves as an important opportunity to brief new staff on company policies, work culture and expectations. It also helps them feel more welcomed and better prepared as they begin their journey with the organization. </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>25-29/8/2025 - Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>For this week, I checked the records for all outsourced staff to see if any of their visa had expired. I found a few staff outsource visa were no longer valid, so l short list the name and contact the agent by email to make sure they send the renewed documents as soon as possible. It’s important that all visa records are updated to avoid any legal issues. I also prepared and organized the necessary documents for the outsourced staff, making sure everything is in order.</p><p>Next, l worked on creating a poster for our upcoming <em>Gotong Royong</em> (clean-up event). After drafting the design, l shared it with the MarCom team so they could review the colors and make sure it follows the company’s branding. It’s important that all materials match the company’s look and feel. Last but not least, l joined the <em>Gotong Royong</em> activity with all the staff. It was a fun and productive session where we cleaned up the workplace together. It really helped build team spirit and made the environment more pleasant. Overall, it was a busy week for me which is intern like permanent staff.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

After the briefing, I check and manage emails via Microsoft Outlook. I then focus on organizing the Outsource file, which involves reviewing, updating, and filing relevant documents. Additionally, I assist with the coordination and support of the Zakat Fitrah event held in the meeting room.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>26/3/2025 - Wednesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>My day starts with a morning briefing to discuss daily tasks and share important updates with the team. After that, I print the memo about the additional Cuti Hari Raya and put it on the notice board. I also send the memo in the WhatsApp group to remind staff that they are entitled to one extra day of leave. All staff are kindly reminded to review and adjust your work schedules in advance in light of this public holiday. Please be informed that <em>Cuti Peristiwa Sempena Hari Raya</em>. For operational staff who are off on that day, you will be entitled to one (1) day of replacement public holiday. Then, I update the name list in the typhoid and food handler file to make sure all records are correct and up to date.</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><em><sup>27-28/3/2025 - Thursday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>As part of the payroll preparation process for the month of March, l was assigned the task of checking casual worker attendance records and calculating the monthly allowances. This involved a detailed review of attendance including approved leaves, absences, and any late arrivals in accordance with the thumbprint system. After confirming all the data, l double check all the calculations to make sure they were correct. The final amounts have been recorded and passed on for payroll processing.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

I also printed food stand cards for each department, indicating the dishes they contributed.. Additionally, I helped set up the PC and other technical equipment needed for the event. On the same day, I accompanied the HR Executive to purchase a birthday cake for the General Manager, ensuring everything was done in time for the celebration. All tasks were completed smoothly and contributed to a successful and well-organized event.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>8/4/2025 - Tuesday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Routine briefing every morning. On the same day, I was also tasked with organizing and updating employee records. Specifically, I prepared individual document files for employees whose documents were not yet available or were missing from the filing system.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>11/4/2025 - Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>My day start with short list name that participate for internal training after confirm the name l print certificates for staff members who participated in the "Malaysian Hospitality Greetings" training session. I ensured that each certificate included the correct name, date and training title. Later that day, I also assisted the HR Manager during a special event where the Head of Department took part in a “Chef of the Day” activity. This initiative aimed to foster team spirit and strengthen interdepartmental relationships.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

The workshop was conducted in two sessions. One in the morning and another in the afternoon to accommodate different work shifts and ensure greater attendance. On the same day, I also prepared several Expenses Approval Forms (EAF) for the General Manager (GM) to sign. Once the forms were signed, I pass it to Finance team for further processing. Additionally, I referred to a previous sample email announcing the “Ambassador of the Month” for January to help me draft a similar announcement for this month’s recipient.</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><sup>15-18/4/2025- Tuesday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>From April  was assigned to update all the HR-related information boards across the company. These boards include important notices such as HR announcements, employee achievements, company policies, upcoming events, and other relevant updates. Firstly, I prepared an updated staff insurance listing, which involved compiling accurate employee information and ensuring that all eligible staff members were correctly included in the insurance coverage records. This task required careful attention to detail and coordination with the HR department to verify the latest employee data.</p><p>In addition, I designed a promotional poster for our upcoming “Gotong-Royong Day,” aimed at encouraging staff participation in the company-wide cleanliness and community spirit initiative. I made sure the poster was visually appealing, informative, and aligned with our internal branding guidelines to effectively communicate the event’s purpose and schedule.Lastly, I entered submitted off-day request forms into the HR system. This involved checking the forms for completeness, updating leave balances, and ensuring that all records were properly maintained for future reference.          <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>During the week, I accompanied the housekeeping team to the hostel to clean and touch up the rooms in preparation for the arrival of our new Housekeeping Manager. We ensured that the rooms were neat, welcoming and ready for inspection. In conjunction with Labour Day, I also took the initiative to prepare a heartfelt wish card to express our appreciation to all staff for their hard work and dedication. Additionally, I sorted through the locker keys and arranged for duplicates to be made for better accessibility and organization. I also attended a "Telephone Skills and Etiquette" training workshop as part of the "Bengkel Mastering &amp; Enhance Your Telephone Skill" program, aimed at improving our professional communication standards. To celebrate Labour Day, we organized a small appreciation event to honor the contributions of our employees. Lastly, I coordinated with event team to bring doctors and staff to the rooftop meeting room, where employees received their influenza vaccine injections as part of our ongoing health and wellness initiative.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>This week, we welcomed a new staff member to the Front Office Department as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the team and maintain excellent service standards. To ensure a smooth onboarding process, I assisted with taking the staff’s thumbprint for attendance registration and accompanied them during the departmental rounding and orientation session. This allowed the new team member to become familiar with the workplace environment, key facilities, and colleagues from different departments. In addition, I was responsible for checking and recording the daily attendance of our outsourced staff and Work-Based Learning (WBL) students. Once the records were verified, I submitted them to the assigned officer for further review and emailing to the respective agencies. Later in the week, we received a visit from a lecturer from LTA Langkawi who came as part of a site visit for their students’ educational purposes. We welcomed the visit and provided a brief tour and explanation of our operations to support their academic goals and industry exposure.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>12-16/5/2025 - Monday until Friday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>Throughout the week, I carried out various daily HR tasks as part of my routine responsibilities. In addition, I assisted one of the employees with their clearance process on their last working day. I also prepared the HR slides for part-time students from LTA who were involved in supporting the LIMA event. As part of the logistics support and new benefit for staff, I do some research and ask other hotel how their arranges transportation shuttlefor staff for us to do the proposal. Moreover, I was responsible for preparing name tags for 50 part-time students and organizing several documents that required their signatures. On the last day of working week, we held an orientation session for the part-time students, which included a welcoming session and brief from Hod from each department to help the students get familiar with the organization.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><sup>19-23/5/2025 - Monday</sup></em></p><ul><li><p>This week, I was assigned to create the design for the Happy receptionist day wish card. After completing the design, I presented it to the HR Manager for approval. Once approved, I coordinated with the Marcom team to proceed with the printing process. In addition, I followed up with the Housekeeping department to cross-check the kitchen staff uniform list and ensure it was aligned with our internal records. As part of the preparations for Receptionist Day, we also went out to purchase goodies to be distributed to the Front Office team as a gesture of appreciation for their contributions.</p><p>I updated the VIP list for the upcoming LIMA event and ensured the latest version was displayed on the staff notice board on Level 3. Orientation was conducted for our new spa receptionist to introduce her to company policies, service standards and departmental expectations. I also continued updating and maintaining the staff filing system to ensure all records are accurate and complete. Lastly, I arranged interview schedules for upcoming recruitment, including blocking calendars for the assigned interviewers to avoid any scheduling conflicts.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

However, staff are reminded that they must submit the official replacement leave form before their request can be keyed in and approved. I also calculated the commission for our spa therapists based on their individual performance and service achievements for the month. In preparation for the upcoming LIMA event, I collected the official event T-shirts from the Housekeeping department and distributed them to the LTA students accordingly, ensuring everyone received the correct sizes. Additionally, we held a <em>Bacaan Yassin</em> session during the week, dedicated to praying for the health, safety, and well-being of all staff.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

I also went to Dash Resort to assist employee  during the E-Invoice Seminar, providing support throughout the event. In addition, I updated the employee leave records by keying in leave applications into the system based on the forms submitted by employees from all departments. In celebration of Mother’s Day, I prepared thoughtful gifts, designed a greeting card, and handled the printing for distribution to all mothers in the company. I also updated the employee anniversary board on Level 3 to include staff who have completed one year and two or more years of service. Lastly, I updated the employee performance review board with the latest reviews for the month of May.</p></li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>

I then proceeded to the staff hostel to check on a complaint raised by one of the tenants, ensuring that the issue was addressed promptly and reported to the relevant department for follow-up. On the same day, I had a casual conversation with Mr. Sami, who visited the premises to conduct prayers for the well-being and prosperity of the hotel, in accordance with Buddhist religious practices. During office hours, I also stepped out briefly to purchase a birthday cake for the Head of the Food &amp; Beverage Department, Mr. Ravi, in celebration of his special day. Additionally, I started preparing a greeting card for Father’s Day, which will be distributed to all fathers within the company as a gesture of appreciation and recognition.</p></li></ul>]]></description>

Additionally, I carefully cross-checked the invoices from three different clinics, calculating and comparing the medical certificates (MC) issued against the records in our system to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies. This process helped maintain financial transparency and ensured that all expenses and employee health claims were properly accounted for.
