I think incorporating some learning about finding your learning style / suggestions of how to complete independent learning would be useful. Often I find myself understanding a topic well, and how it links to the assignment. But for me as a mature student I think I would get more from independent learning if we had some guidance about the steps required to enjoy and gain depth from learning. Arguably I know academic success can support this, however I find because social work assignments can be creative and subjective rather than facts based, having a deep understanding of critical analysis is important so I think at this point in our studies that could be beneficial to our learning :)

I think feedback from our assignments could be more in depth and critical, I often understand where my writing is but not fully understanding why. Only in one lot of feedback out of the 3 so far did I understand how I could improve and what I am categorically doing wrong/well.

Also marking seems to have some level of inconsistency, it seems it can depend on the tutor opposed to the learning outcomes. I know as a team for our use of self some students shared they scored very high with a particular member of staff and the other staff member seemed to be marking lower, but I’m not sure how accurate that is

More in depth feedback on essays, I often get only positive feedback and then a grade lower than I'd hope for, so not sure how to improve.

Sociology module was excellent so engaging and felt really relevant to practice!

Lecturers sharing examples from thier practice is also great and especially in the readiness to practice module!

I think a lot of the cohort struggled with finding a child observation and lack of guidance on this- advice assumed that the eys were able to accommodate students.
