My first interviewee was a co-worker of mine, a Personal Care Aide, PCA for a student in the class that I work in. I common theme among all of the interviewee’s answers was open-mindedness and organization. From the answers and from my experience working with him, he is definitely capable and competent in his ability to collaborate with his surrounding coworkers. He gave an interesting answer for one of the things needed for collaboration to take place, camaraderie. I thought that this was an interesting characteristic to list because no one else mentioned it yet I feel like it is a very important part of the collaboration process.

I found the secretary’s answers to be very interesting and intelligent. This woman is the head secretary for the school that I work and an essentially runs the building. The word organization was among the common themes in this set of answers. She mentioned flexibility a lot. I thought that this was an interesting answer because I’ve seen her at work and she is very flexible with her time. Another interesting answers and good characteristic she listed was to be a good listener. Based on the answers she provided me and my experience working with her at school I would say that this person is an excellent collaborator.

2nd Grade Teacher

The second grade teacher that I used to work with was the last person that I interviewed. His answers also contained the common theme of open-mindedness and organization as as being important factors in all three processes. One thing that I thought was interesting about his answers was that he listed inspiration and creativity as important aspects needed for collaboration and co-teaching. I found these answers refreshing because I feel that a lot of lessons that I’ve seen over the years are lacking in both inspiration and creativity. From the answers he has provided and also from my experience in his classroom I would say that he is also an excellent collaborator.
