Scrooges repeated questions achieved the spirit to give him another chance. The reason I think this is because it said Scrooge was on his knees holding the spirits hand almost crying and the spirits hand faltered and fell. Then all at once the whole spirit faltered and disappeared and so I think Scrooge got a second chance. I can infer everything is better for Scrooge now because the spirit left him alone and is no longer following him.

Based on what I read, there are several details in the passage that shows that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. One example of how the spirit is affected by what the Scrooge said is on line 23, "For the first time the kind hand faltered", this was after the the Scrooge had been begging for another chance, and the spirit did give the Scrooge another chance. All of the Scrooge's begging had unraveled the Spirit's spell.

They are several details show that the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. Here is some evidence: "For the first time the kind hand faltered. "Holding up his hands in one last" prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the Phantoms, hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bedpost. I can infer that in this passage that the kind spirit forgives him and gives him another chance and Scrooge claims to be a better person and have the spirit of christmas in his heart.

There are several things of how the spirit is affected by what Scrooge says. According to the text it says, “Why show me this, if I am past all hope? Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me, by an altered life.” within the text I found, ¨For the first time the kind hand faltered.¨. Another example is,¨I will not shut out the lessons that they teach. Oh, tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!” the spirit was affected by this by,¨Holding up his hands in one last prayer to have his fate reversed, he saw an alteration in the phantom’s hood and dress. It shrunk, collapsed, and dwindled down into a bedpost.¨. From this I can infer that the spirit can be affected in many ways.
