The reason I think this is because it said Scrooge was on his knees holding the spirits hand almost crying and the spirits hand faltered and fell. Then all at once the whole spirit faltered and disappeared and so I think Scrooge got a second chance. Then the spirits hand faltered and all his body did the same. The next morning Scrooge woke up with a bedpost in his hand and everything was fine.
