         <description><![CDATA[<p>Evidence of evolution can be observed through changes in heritable characteristics of species over time. These characteristics, encoded by alleles on chromosomes, manifest as observable traits known as phenotypes. Fossils provide  evidence, capturing the sequential physical and behavioral changes of species throughout history. Structural fossils, including molds, imprints, casts, and preserved organisms, reveal morphological adaptations. Meanwhile, trace fossils such as footprints and burrows shed light on behavioral shifts. Preserved in sedimentary rock (usually I think), fossils accumulate in layers or strata, with older specimens buried deeper. By analysing these, scientists can establish a chronological order of evolutionary changes.</p>]]></description>
