Direct Quotes:There are plenty of myths and misconceptions about addiction, but in reality, the processes that give rise to addictive behavior resist a simplistic explanation. There is not just one cause: Although genetic or other biological factors contribute to a person’s vulnerability to the condition, many social, psychological, and environmental factors have a powerful influence on substance use. Some characteristics, such as a lack of ability to tolerate distress or other strong feelings, have been associated with addiction, but there is no one “addictive personality” type that clearly predicts whether a person will face problems with addiction.

My Thoughts:I feel as if, yes, some of these solutions may work for some people, but I do not see them working for everyone.
Every human being is different when it comes to substance abuse, or drug use. Some people can tolerate more, so they take more.
The people whom are abusing these substances, are lost in a way, shape or form, and they need to try and find themselves. Or at the least, common grounds. maybe they don't stop using these substances, but they monitor how much that they use of them.
