The Ted Dvd cover is very plain and simple

it is a lot like the poster but just with an added

extra on the back of it with extra information. I

personally think that they do not like to advertise

too much within a dvd cover as they do not want to give

too much away if someone hasnt seen the film before.

The back of the dvd cover is a bit like a book as it tells you

a little bit about the movie which then excites the audience.

The 22 jump street dvd covers seems to have a lot more colour

and some more picture which will help attract the audience

and also help to show what is going on a little bit within the film without

giving too much away.

The main codes and conventions of DVD Covers

The main codes and conventions within a dvd cover are sticking to a theme, media language and camera work.

First of all the theme is important so that everything links together and that everything tat is associated with the

film will all then be recognisable otherwise everything will look a bit out of place. Next the media language is also

important as a lot of information will be held on the cover. Such as information about the film, age certificate, quotes,

the cast etc. The dvd cover sort of works as a bigger version of a poster that you can take more time to read and give

it your full attention. Next the camera work is also important as more images are normally located on the back. The

images normally help draw more attention to the film and to interest the audience without giving too much away.
