~ Varied work experience ~ I have work experience in retail as well as in the hospitality industry which has provided me with knowledge in areas such as customer service and how to work in a professional environment. It was reported by Coughlan (2013) that graduates with work experience are more successful in finding employability overall, proving that by developing these skills I am more desirable for employers.

~ Organised/ self-disciplined ~ I am very methodical in the way that I complete tasks, I need to have a plan to complete tasks which allows me to be organised. As a result of being organised I like a clean work environment and always meet deadlines. This shows that I am a reliable person with good time management skills.

~ Good work ethic ~ I am a very motivated person especially in an academic or working environment. I enjoy challenges and hard work as I find it rewarding and as a high achiever. This portrays that I am determined and willing to take on challenges.  

~ Good presentation skills ~ I have experience in giving presentations and have done public speaking competitions as well as giving presentations within an educational environment. I am comfortable talking to people and have good communication skills.

~ Too self-critical/ lack of self-confidence ~ This can be very emotionally demanding and distract me from other aspects of my life. I often put myself down by comparing myself to others which can deter me from acknowledging my progress and achieving goals.

~ Adaptability ~ I find it difficult to adapt to change, I enjoying working in a methodical way which can make it hard for me to adapt to new environments and processes.

~ Anxiety / put pressure on myself~ this can make it difficult for me to achieve my full potential as it can often cause me to become distracted from engaging in group work or focusing on a specific task.

~Spanish~ By speaking Spanish this improves my communication skills and will allow me to obtain a higher salary. As outlined by Brower (2023) having a second language makes me more appealing over other candidates, improving my chances of employability.  

~ Increased access to online resources ~ This provides opportunities to obtain increased knowledge which helps to further advance the tasks which I complete. Due to more varied resources being available I can produce more unique pieces of work with a wider range of ideas, helping me to become more innovative.

~ Networking/ better global connectivity~ Technological developments allow for increased opportunities to meet new people. This will help improve my social networking and provide me with different career options and work experience. Overall, by taking advantage of the variety of cultures I am exposed to by attending a university with international students, this exposes me to different perspectives and encourages me to have an open mind in a working environment.

~ Developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) ~ As outlined by Gov.uk (2021) a decline in job opportunities can be expected as technology is taking over and replacing people. This increases competition in the work industry and makes it harder for candidates to stand out.

~ Competitive recruitment processes~ A degree will help me be more employable however, employers also desire experience and a variety of skills. Finding a job is becoming more difficult therefore I must find a way to continue diversifying my skill sets.

~Self-doubt~ As someone who doubts my own potential this can hold me back from taking advantage of opportunities. I often put down my own successes and compare myself to others which can negatively impact my professional development.
