         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this chapter Jonas told his parents about a dream, and his mother explained that they have to take pills for the dreams.<br><br>Why do they take pills to numb their feelings?<br>They have no independence and they all have to act the same way. What is the point of being given new things for each year? I feel it takes away independence knowing they have to dress the same as people their age. When a child dies, they just replace it like they're nothing. They even name them the same. They don't mention the word death and they only say release.</div>]]></description>

They gave the family a new child named Caleb as well.<br><br>Asher seems like he's questioning job selection and if he would move to a different community.<br>Lily seems to question everything that happens each year.<br>I wonder if the stories about people swimming through the river into a new community are true? and if Asher is thinking about it.</div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this chapter the ceremony of the twelves had finally come; but Jonas' number was skipped and not called<br><br>They have determined their future and jobs. They have no choice for the rest of their lives "Thank you for your childhood". This meant their childhood was taken by them for the community like everything they did wasn't for themselves or their lives. Did they skip over him because he did something wrong? Like taking the apple, or did they skip over him by accident? What happens if he doesn't get a job. Why didn't they tell him and will they ever tell him the exact reason?</div>]]></description>
