Everything on the night will be about you. Teachers will just be there to assist you in whatever way your think they can, but you bring the magic!

1. Create a team (no more than 5 people) - everyone has a role. No slackers or spongers!
2. ONLY WHEN you have finished reading these Instructions will you:

(a) Choose one of the team names in this Padlet, then click on the "+" symbol to add the names of the people in your group. Let me know if you run out. I'll make more.
3. Decide what you want to do for the TIC Showcase Evening. Give your activity a name.

Here are the rules:

(a) Your display will have visuals (e.g. screens, books, equipment) related to the life of a TIC student.

(b) THE GOAL is that your stand will be designed so that visitors can "try" whatever it is you are displaying. They need to feel what it is like to be a TIC student by "having a go" at your equipment (iPads, Spheros, drones, EV3s, robots, cameras, experiments, quizzes, etc). Make the visitors DO something. In some rare cases, this will be impossible, but knowing you lot, you should be able to think of something.

4) Under your group section in this Padlet, you will have the following sections:

NOTE: Two or more teams CAN use the same equipment on the night (e.g. Spheros, drones) but each team will have to provide the visitors with a different experience.

BE MINDFUL OF other teams' ideas and skillfully avoid replicating their work. This means reading what other teams are planning to do. IF there is too much overlap between you and another team, feel free to negotiate what tweaks both teams can make to ensure that everyone is happy.

We will be exploring how to draw and use procreate as well as how you can find your ‘art style’. This will be implemented by using/ displaying different forms/ mediums of art on the night (e.g pen and paper, electronically etc). There will be a demonstration on the iPads, displaying our art works, time lapses of the drawings, animation (<—- unsure) and we could engage the visitors by letting them have a go. As well as this, we can show (an) example/s of ‘tips and tricks’ for the apple pens.

Drones

We will display drones (WIP)
We will create an obstacle course with hoops and poles, resembling an obstacle/ninja course. We allow guests to attempt to complete the obstacle course with drones.
We will explain how drones can be used for geography and wildlife observations.
We will personally guide the parents/students during the flight time to ensure safety.
There will also be boundaries in case a drone goes to an undesired area, visitors will immediately turn off drones in case of injury or anything unplanned.

We are going to set up a course where the guests must control the drone to navigate around obstacles set around the room. We will count the scores of how many obstacles each person defeats and write there name and score on the scoreboard. The person with the highest score will be announced at the end of the event.

What we need:

• 12 drone batteries (enough charge for a few hours)

• various obstacles which the drones must avoid and pass through (cones and hoopla hoops)

Our team will create games like walk the line and toss the ball, to illustrate the real life risks of alcohol impairment though engaging activities. Through the use of drunk goggles, we can finish our final year of TIC in a fun and educational way!

-there will be a real life model of plant and animal cells
-posters of information on different organelles in the cells and some of their structures and functions
-we will quiz them on some of the information from the posters but maybe just the simple’s stuff like nucleus and if they get it right they get a chocolate or lollie or something else
-MAYBE we’ll have a draw of all the people who got the quiz correct and they can go into a raffle and at the end all the remaining chocolate

We are planing to set up a section in the back of a hallway with a Dungeons & Dragons traveller bar feeling. It will set the new students on an adventure with a stamp card where they can collect stamps from other yr 7 participating stalls. This will encourage them to visit and interact with other stalls. When they return probably at the end of the event they will have to do a booklet to test their knowledge and can get a prize. We will have tables and chairs set up if anyone wants to rest. We will answer questions from guardians (parents).
Maybe we will have snacks and drinks, idk if that’s allowed.

There will be a circle on the ground (made of masking tape or other type of tape) in which the Spheros will be fighting in. There will be a minimum of 2 Spheros fighting at once, and a maximum of 4 (due to restrictive iPad numbers). The participants will compete to knock each others’ Spheros out of the circle. The winner gets a prize (either candy/chocolates or something Sphero related).

Microscopes and some apps

We will be using microscopes to learn about membranes and what they look like under the microscope. We will be involving the life of a TIC student by demonstrating the use of apps on our iPads. We will be taking photos of the membranes under the microscopes and inserting these images into GoodNotes to showcase the convenience of this app. As our posters will be made on procreate, we will briefly mention how TIC students may use procreate (a drawing app). Additionally we will screen record the process of making notes about membranes/microscopes (and inserting images) on GoodNotes (a note-taking app). This will be edited on CapCut (a video-editing app), therefore we will be including CapCut as apart of the many useful apps on our iPads, we may briefly mention CapCut but it is not guaranteed.

Our theme for the obstacle course would be “Australian Drone Warrior ©”.
The participants will receive a nice prize like candy, etc.
All the timed scores will be recorded on the iPads and displayed for everyone to see (with their names next to it) . At the end of the night the fastest time will receive a 3D-printed trophy/prize.
Obstacles will be hoops and poles, they can have cardboard designed ‘fire’ to give the feel of the TV Show Australian Ninja Warrior. We will also attempt to recreate some iconic obstacles like the ‘Warped Wall’.

At least 3-4 tables will be required for us to have enough space to be able to interact with the visitors. We will have 4 areas, the start, the 1st obstacle where they drone must fly through Olympic rings, the 2nd obstacle where the drone does a loop, then the end where the drone crashes through a pyramid onto a landing pad.

This area will not be accessible for the guests, so we can ensure everyone will be safe.

We will time the guests, and the person with the shortest time will receive a prize at the end of the night.
