2. Explore different types of drums. In the book, the girl plays conga, bongo, and timbales drums. Ask children to compare/contrast those drums and/or the drums in your classroom.
3. Share Cuban music with the children. You can find the CDs Cuba, Cuba and Cuban Playground on BrightBuy. Ask children to listen for drums in the music.
4. Provide children with boxes or other recycled materials to make their own drums.
