"My wish, the first of my future life, is to come into the world on April 20. Because that's the Fuhrer's birthday. If I'm born on April 20, I will be blessed by the Germanic gods and seen as the firstborn of the master race. The Aryan race that will henceforth rule the world" (Cohen-Scali 3-4).

Response to Favorite Qoute

I chose this quote because it is extremely important to the book First off, the quote perfectly shows how the speaker/main character Max will be thinking and an overview of what his opinions may be. Throughout this book, Max says many things like this. He is purely Aryan and created by a program to multiply the pure Aryan race so that one day they will hopefully conquer the world. As one can see from this quote, Max, who at this point has not even been born yet, has already been overloaded with Hitler's evil thoughts. Finally, I found this quote interesting because it is completely opposite of what anyone would say or believe now in our time period. In conclusion, I chose this quote because it represents what the rest of the book will be about and shows how Max has and will be infected with Nazi thoughts and ideas.

My Opinion on the Review

Both of these book reviews say the same thing, and I agree with both of them. Both hint at the fact that the book can sometimes be a little bit hard to read, especially when Max talks about some of the ideas only an adult should have. Also, both reviews say that it takes way to long to get to the big conflict of the book (200 pages to get to it). While the book is very interesting, I agree that the conflict is too far into the book. When you are reading the book it feels like you are just reading a book about a Nazi child growing up, and you think that you will never see any big conflict. However, once you do get to the big conflict it is interesting, but for some people it may already be too late. The two reviews were very accurate and I agree with both of them.

Would I Suggest This Book?

If I were asked if I would suggest this book, here is what I would say: This book is very good, but you have to be a certain type of person to be able to read it. If you like fiction books about World War II, then you will love it. However, if you are not into that, the book might be a little slow and even graphic for you. Overall, I would suggest this book, however it may not suit all readers well.
