I applied for 3 months solid (quality applications not quantity), reached out to recruiters, but also reached out to other professionals in my industry over linked in, which also helped me. I didnt spam a load of people but just cherry picked a few. I also attended events relevant to my industry all suited and booted, networked with anybody and everybody, armed with business cards, that also got me some opportunities, but I had to decline by that point as I got what I aimed for, thankfully.

Graduated end of 2018, recent ish?

I did a lot of applications during my degree so I could get experience doing interviews which was invaluable in getting job offers later down the line. Sure, I didn't do great at a lot of the initial interviews, but I learnt quickly and effectively.

By the time I graduated I was really good at doing interviews, and I even had a job lined up.

I started looking at work at writing my CV in the break before dissertation time started. I applied for a couple of jobs at that point to practice what I was doing. I only applied for jobs that I thought were actually interesting. After the dissertation came in I had a month of work from my old career but applied for jobs alongside. I applied many times where the job was not right for me but was close if the ad was through an agency. Specifically I was applying at that point to the agency saying that I was looking for x type of work. I attended 2 data conferences - look at the Turing Institute for example. The final job I got was through word of mouth but advertised on Indeed. I wrote I think 8 major cv versions but tailored for more than 40 specific jobs and sent a generic CV with a tailored letter to at least 50 more. I turned 40 just after graduating and had 3 careers before the MSc in Data Science at UWE
