         <description><![CDATA[<p>'And I watered it in fears, Night and morning with my tears; And I sunned it with smiles, And with soft deceitful wiles.'</p><p>-vividly depicts how the speaker nurtures their anger through various deceptive means, emphasising the insidious nature of unresolved emotions.</p><p><br/></p><p>'And it grew both day and night, Till it bore an apple bright.'</p><p>-unchecked anger metaphorically grows like a tree, eventually producing a poisonous fruit, symbolising the harmful outcomes that result from harbouring negative emotions.</p><p><br/></p><p>'And my foe beheld it shine, And he knew that it was mine.'</p><p>The poem concludes with the realisation that the speaker's enemy perceives and understands the consequences of their anger, suggesting that holding onto resentment ultimately harms both parties.</p>]]></description>
