When Cortez set out he found the Aztecs and wanted to take them down. That caused a war and many people were killed from it. That was just one example but war is a big part in what conquistadors do. Not to mention the name conquistador, which has the root word of conquer. Some conquistadors set out to convert people. That also resulted in death. When people didn't want to convert they were killed for it. Conquistadors also spread many diseases. Columbus spread a lot diseases of to the new word, which the Natives weren't immune from. Not limited to but Smallpox was one of the most fatal diseases. Slaves got taken from their homes and family to be forced to work on a plantation everyday fro the rest of their lives. The only things slaves had to feel normal were family, religion, and songs, even those were taken away. Columbus enslaved Native Americans for the purpose of them finding gold for him. If they didn't complete the requirements for the day they would have their arms chopped off and they would die from blood-loss. His settings out turned into the death and slavery of many, many people. When Natives and Muslims were being converted they were killed if they didn't comply. When Natives were being converted they had their identities, cultures, and lives stripped away. Their only choice was to pretend to be Christian and practice their cultures in private.
