Mostly Teacher said that I had low class engagement but it’s because the assignments are too much and long instructions. Sometimes I submit my work on padlet and it disappear without me knowing. The work is too much the instructions are hard and the assignments where pointed out in class not clearly. And lastly when students are missing assignments teacher didn’t pointed out right away but notice it to students after the grade where out.

After reading your reflections, I want to be very honest with you so that you can see I understand you, and I also hope you can see things from my perspective as well.

I can see that you are frustrated with this class and may not feel motivated to complete the work. I understand those feelings, and I want to encourage you. I try hard as a teacher to help as much as I can, but if a student resists my help or does not put effort into the work nor bothers with just asking for help.. Then it is very difficult for me to see where there is an issue and how I can support them.

At Grade 12 level, one of the most important skills is taking ownership of your own work. Responsibility and effort will help you in the long run.

You mentioned that instructions were unclear or too long, but please remember:

• All instructions are always posted clearly in MS Teams, and I have explained them in class.

• We do the work in class and most of the time in collaborative platforms. This is so that you can see the guides, examples and what is said in class to make sure to get the best grade.

• You can always submit your work in any way you prefer if Padlet does not work — I have said this many times.

• Other students were able to complete the same tasks without issue, which shows that the tools and instructions are not the real problem.

Unfortunately, I cannot raise your grade to 70% because you did not follow the clear instructions given in MS Teams. The step by step guide is give for you.

I can see that you wrote a reflection and submitted part of the assignment, but you did not complete it fully according to the instructions once again.

In addition, you did not answer the entry/exit ticket questions that were provided to make up for what was missed in class.

For these reasons, I cannot award you 70%. It would also not be fair to any other student who followed the instructions, did the hard work, and earned their grades.

That said, I did give you points for sharing your perspective and making an attempt on the assignment. However, the work still did not reach the required level for 70%.

If you feel I am being too strict or have too much work, please understand it is because I know you are capable of more and I believe this will help you grow.

I believe you can turn this around if you start fresh, take ownership, and give your best effort in the next assignments. I will continue to support you — but the effort has to come from you.

So to make sure you get the 70%:

Do the following:

• Answer all the entry + exit tickets that is given for you in MS TEAMS 'Improving Midterm' assignment box

Shortcuts will not help you. Focus, good habits and doing the hard work will.
