This is a picture of Ishmael Beah, the author of the book "A Long Way Gone".
The story is an autobiography of his life, primarily about the time in his life where he had lived through the war in Sierra Leone. One of the main points of the story is how much it tries to convey to us the horrible atrocities of war. Another atrocity of war and another main point is just seeing how a scared young boy who would almost throw up at the site of dead could be transformed into an angry soldier capable of slitting the throats of innocence. The last part of the story explains how he had escaped his horrible life in Sierra Leone and started a new one in america helping the children of war. One of the big takeaways from this book is that life really sucks but if you fight and hold on to hope you can get through it.
