Personification

I chose this Emoji for the poetry term "Personification" because it's my favorite Emoji to use right now and is an example of personification. Though it would be amazing to see an actual caterpillar play a saxophone, sadly that isn't the case. In an actual sentence for this emoji for a use of personification, you can say "The jazz moments of the caterpillar intrigued the toddler" or something along those lines.

Oxymoron

I choose "Living Dead Girl" by Rob Zombie as an Oxymoron song. I chose this song because the title in itself is an oxymoron but the song is also an oxymoron because the song is about zombies and zombies are "the living dead". I guess in a way you could say zombies in themselves are oxymorons because them being the "living dead".

Allusion

I chose this image for "Allusion" because as we know in hindsight the Trojan horse was a set up that the Greeks set up to win the war. The Trojan horse is often used in literary allusions as an example of a setup.

Verbal Irony

I chose Iago from Othello for my character comparison for the poetry term "Verbal Irony" because every word her says is a verbal irony to what he is thinking or plans. An example of verbal Irony from Igao is "The Moor is of a free and open nature, That thinks men honest that but seem to be so,". This quote shows Iagos true and honest opinion of Othello and shines a light on his later plan of overthrowing him. But right after this quote he goes to Othello and is very friendly with him showing his fake and manipulative sense that is also Verbal irony.

Simile

I chose this meme for the poetry term "Simile" because the meme within itself is a simile. The meme compares the noise a doorbell makes to barking using "like".

Synaesthesia

As the smell of warm vanilla consumed the room, the sound of crackling caramelized sugar filled the air, and a symphony of flavors danced around my senses while the vibrant colors of fresh berries sparked joy in my mind.

I chose these two songs for the poetry term "Analogy" because most Analogs compare two very different things to explain something; and what two things are more different than dogs and cats?
