In addition, English is the most popular foreign language used in Norway, while Nynorsk and Bokmål are the next two popular languages used in the country.

The colors red, white, and blue of the Norwegian flag were influenced by the French Tricolore, which is a symbol of liberty. Furthermore, the design of the flag was inspired by many different countries. For example, the flags of the United Kingdom and the United States inspired the Norwegians, while the off-centered white cross was taken from the Danish flag and the blue cross from the Cross of Sweden.

In the winter time, Norway is icy cold. In fact, legend says that Norway got its name from the old norse word Norðrvegr, which means "the way north". However, on a typical day in Norway, the country has a fairly mild climate because of the warm air currents of the nrotehrn Gulf Stream.
