Post War Housing Conditions

In the post-war period between 1947 and 1959, the SIT built approximately around 21,000 housing units. SIT dwellings housed 8.8% of the population by 1959. Many lived in overcrowded pre-war shophouses, slums or tenements without piped water and modern sanitation. Because of the overcrowding, the government took the responsibility of providing homes on a large scale.
For example, sets of flats at Tiong Bahru was built after the World War Two, in 1948 to 1951. Equipped with large round staircases, these flats were largely modeled after new towns in Britain, and designed with Art Deco and international style. After 1973, the post-war flats, numbered between 17 and 50, were sold to residents as regulated HDB flats.

http://eresources.nlb.gov.sg/infopedia/articles/SIP_1585_2009-10-26.html

CONDOMINIUM
these are buildings which consists of multiple individual houses that are within a confined space.

Many expats live in such complexes because of the amenities that they bring with them: swimming pools, playgrounds, tennis courts, and other expats as within close proximity. Condominiums are also considered a more affordable choice compared to bungalows.

The rental prices for condos change according to where they are located, how old the building is, and its size.

APARTMENTS
These are almost the same as condos, but lack facilities condos have such as the swimming pool. They also are older, since most of the newer construction is in the form of condos.

HDB
Housing and Development Board houses (HDB) are government constructed flats. HDBs are perfect for people on a tight budget, such as college graduates(which is actually who they were specifically designed for). Around 80% of Singaporeans live in this type of housing. They offer many other benefits as they are usually in close proximity to other places amenities like schools, gyms, and shopping centres.

LANDED PROPERTY

Terraced houses

These are houses that are a part of a row or join together by a common boundary. They are usually two or three stories high and share a wall on each side with a neighbour to save space.

Semi-detached houses

These are not a type itself, but they are a category of different houses which fit a certain criteria. They are have the same feature in which terrace houses share walls with neighbours. But semi detach houses only share one wall and can generally be described as one house being split down the middle.

https://www.legalloansingapore.com/housing-tips/6-different-types-housing-singapore/amp/
