God gives Adam and Eve freedom with only one restriction. He tells them not to eat from The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. When Eve is near the tree, a serpent appears to her. He tells her that God told them not to eat from that because because if they did, they would become as powerful as God. Deceived by these words, Eve takes a bite out of an apple and then, she tells Adam to have a bite. Then, their eyes are opened and they realize they’re naked, so they hide. When God speaks to them after, He knows what they’ve done and He banishes the two of them from the Garden. God also now made man have to work, and that a woman will labor during childbirth.
