So, Ruth returns to Bethlehem and gleans the fields of Boaz. Boaz is so impressed by Ruth, the two marry and have a son, Obed. Obed has a son named Jesse, and Jesse has a son named, David. This makes Ruth the great grandmother of David and a ancestor of the Messiah.
