They have been around since the times of fire and gumption. You may not have heard of them since Tenek-Toktata traded Starlake City/Skeleton City dense supplies of Uranium and advanced traps in exchange for complete secrecy and oil. They famously became the first civilization in early days to create a key and have prided the invention since then. They used to live on the coast of Alaska but then they figured out how to move underwater. Whether or not we can consider them a Nation is widely debated because of this. Their airtight seals and advanced keys allow them to rarely be revealed. Their dominant religion is Gastroism, which means a mighty slug named Glognock created the sea and sheltered them deep within it from other predators. Many slugs live on their underwater base, too.

The people lived on the coast of Alaska with the Starlians until the Starlians' migration underground in WW2 period when they underwent an operation for more oil to support America. The Tenek-Toktatans refused to go underground, as that was where there were no good slugs to speak to, making it a cursed place of evil. They pulled off the greatest migration in the era, possibly ever; they moved underwater. A large underwater walking base of epic proportions was created from strong metal and engineering. It was a practical recreation of the story of Glognock's Ark, put underwater. They took hundreds of thousands of animals with them. It took only the entire duration of WW2 to finish it. In the end, it resembled a giant slug. It's large "foot" in the bottom harvested creatures for food and farming that went to a right receptacle and minerals went to another, sorted by machinery. All of the millions of people live in the main wing, which is not well-defined from the outside, but is right above the foot. The Ark is able to slither along the ocean floor thanks to numerous wheels on it's foot and strong, flexible parts everywhere. They are undefined on a map, but are said to be on the move to Italy.

Keys and traps are a large part of their culture. Every 7 years, the greatest engineers come together in the Festival of Keys to try and create a skeleton key that can get through any door. While a difficult to believe concept, an inventor and renowned slugspeaker named Dronkei Centrag invented a small stick with numerous buttons to change shape and setting. It takes an expert to master, but it can get through any lock. Their religion has also become a large part of their culture. "The 7 Habits of a Highly Effective Slugspeaker" was the original book. We can't tell who wrote it, but they were the first to claim slugs were a divine being capable of bestowing moral wisdom upon you. Archaeologists have discovered this popular religion started out as an inside joke the author of the book had with friends and family. In the life of a Tenek-Toktatan, it is important to devote at least some time to talking to slugs. It is believed they are agents for Glognock. Glognock has a pretty sweet place he invites your spirit to after death where you go through a metamorphosis to be a slug of power, but before death, you must apply to a snail. It is like a job interview. If you have followed all 7 effective habits,, you can go there after death. This "interview" is a ceremony called the Transcendence, and is an honor on a higher scale of formality than a wedding.

They have many games carried over from America, but one unique to this country is called Cluntik where the goal is to navigate a maze and create set traps with give materials to down your opponents. It is criticized for being a proclaimed blood sport still played today, but is slowly shifting rules for nonlethal crafting material and fines for killing. There is a game commonly played among serveral friends in different sectors of the base, and that's Toskball. The objective is to slip a finger through a flexible loop on the huge ball and use a slinging motion to try and make it bounce on as many houses as possible. Good fun if your neighbors don't mind.

Their music is like a soft, gentle ambiance. This is assisted by the signature instrument and source of cultral pride, the Slogbukat. It sounds like an unappetizing meal at a restaurant, but it is a horn shaped like a croissant with holes that get bigger towards the tiny end. The first out of 13 holes can be covered with your pinky finger, but the last one needs a hand. The Instrument is played with water. The Slogbukat trickles down the insides of the instrument quickly or slowly (depends on how you tilt it) and creates a vibration sound. It's beautiful to listen to professional musicians use it. The ornamental editions of the instruments are unbelievably expensive, but critics say it's worth every Juq (That's 5$ for you American folks).
