We had to made a play, we had an issue with people not showing up. I planned a big group meeting where everyone could have open communication about there concerns. When everyone spoke about it the issues understood but everyone were resolved and people started to turn up.

During my first year, I was part of a group and had chosen to direct, instead of act. The issue was, the group needed one more actor, and I was the only person who fit the bill.

In that moment, I put aside my personal inclination for the benefit of the company; I gave up the prospect of directing and committed to acting.

The result was a beneficial experience, as the person directing had a better vision than I ever did, and I brought out dramaturgs vision to life, and to positive feedback.

Worked through technical difficulties with the Bristol Old vic whilst having our assessment there. They put up decorations for a different show in the area we were performing. So we worked through it and I re wrote the script and state directions to include it rather than trying to avoid.

S: in a uni assessment

T: we had to create a presentation alongside other commitments and other upcoming assessments.

A: I suggested we meet with our unit tutor to regroup on our aims and find out what we had to do to achieve our aims. following this I suggested we re-assign duties in accordance with the groups strengths and availability.

R: we were able to complete our presentation and delivered a successful presentation, re-wriritng our script overnight, achieving a good mark

excellent teamwork skills came through in a performance we had to devise using research into the archive . we also had to collaborate with Bristol Old Vic because the performance was site specific so this added more communication skills with people outside of the university . i had to organise rehearsal spaces in the theatre for us and it got quite complicated when the cafe got upset at us about rehearsing publicly despite us being given explicit permission to do so. me and the team had to liaise with different people to get this sorted.

In April 2025, I was asked to work as part of a team to deliver a Family Theatre Day. I was required to devise a workshop and performance for young children that I would facilitate alongside my team. I organised and developed my section of the workshop whilst making sure all of our sections linked together and flowed well into each other to create a cohesive plan, working as a team to deliver the workshop. This resulted in a successful event which aided the development of the children’s creativity and access to theatre.
