Its location held the first raising of the American flag in San Francisco and the announcement of the discovery of gold in 1849. After the earthquake and fire of 1906, it provided housing for those in need.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Now, this park is known as "the heart" of Chinatown and it is an important landmark of San Francisco.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Willie "woo woo" Wong Park, formally known as Chinese Park opened in 1927. It was renamed in 2006, to honor a legendary Chinese basketball player, Willie Wong. He played for the University of San Francisco from 1948-1950 and the crowd would shout "woo woo" every time he scored.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After a 14.5 million dollar renovation of Willie "woo woo" Wong park, it was opened on Lunar New year, February 2021. Collaboratively designed by CMP Landscape Architecture and the City of San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, the park includes an eye-catching color scheme, new courts, and new play structures of a dragon and phoenix.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>St. Mary's Square, named after St. mary's church, (one of the few structures that survived the 1906 earthquake and fire) has not changed since the year it was built in 1957. One of the most noticeable things about this park is the granite statue of Dr. Sun Yat-Se, the founder of the Chinese Republic.</div>]]></description>
