- From personal exp, no. After watching action movies ourselves, we are not more violent people.
- Young children can be exposed to voilent content, and this can lead to a fundamental misunderstanding of common morals.
- However after growing up in the digital age, we are not affected by violent media on a significant scale.
- Those who are can usually have other negative traits/mental conditions that can lead to violence. This does not mean violent media is that cause necessarily.
- The video game 'Hatred' was boycotted on Steam and online platforms for it's outrageous violent content. This is an example of a community resisting extreMEME violence which leads us to believe we have complete control over our actions.

It seems that violence in the media does not have a negative impact on the majority of people. Others who are pathological may be inclined to interpret it negatively.

Ultimately the context matters. For example: A war film (i.e. Saving Private Ryan) is incredibly graphic, though it represents the reality of the 2nd World War. It doesn't glorify violence but without showing it the impact the film has would be far less significant

- context is key
- there's a reason we have ratings, if kids are exposed to inappropriate media, not media's fault
- it's a problem if there is a rewarding system for acting violently in media such as games, not necessarily showing that violence is good and positive
- many scientific meta-analyses have drawn no concrete conclusion to violence in video games increasing aggression levels in kids and teens; they use messy methods to prove weak points
- more likely, home life and exposure to violence in real life is way more likely to affect whether impressionable youths see violence as okay
- violence is a reality for a lot of people. It'd be more of a problem if we pretended violence wasn't a real thing
- the media shows lame things because real life is lame
- HOWEVER, context is important, and there are always examples of where it's appropriate and where it isn't
