I didn't use every strategy I saw last year, but I used a lot of them, and I think my students are better because of it. I loved Basecamp Mini and look forward to participating again this year!

I loved that it was after school, was super quick, and gave you ideas for lessons that you could use the next day. As a department head it ends up being an amazing resource for new teachers, and meetings where we are focusing on different skills or what not.

I was a little stressed out to present but then I realized how short it would be for and it was over something I had previously done. When it came to other people's lesson. I love that the lessons were short, and simple.  I came away with great ideas. They shared their stuff so I could just go tweak it. Plus when else do I get to collaborated with multiple grades, Middle to High School. As a new teacher it is overwhelming to sort through many lesson plans/strategies applicable to my subject and I benefited from what other teachers in my field had to share. It was about being able to teach strategies that could benefit any teacher in any social studies class whether it was middle school or high school. I had the opportunity to be a contributing member of the LISD Social Studies Family, not just a teacher on the 2nd floor of a school somewhere. This program
provided me the understanding that the knowledge and ideas we have to offer as individuals help us to grow together so we can become better as a department, school, district and most importantly how it can help our students become better.

As a viewer, I took away so much that I could use in my classes.
