The central idea in this article is that all good things come to an end but for a good cause. The main idea that supports the first part of the central idea is when Phil split up with Onitsuka. Before the split, Phil was making a ton of money and having so much fun selling shoes to people. He was probably also very happy. Because of their split, Phil became broke. He had very little money and had to find a different job. He had to go back to his old job as an accountant at PWC. This could also affect Phil emotionally because he could be very enraged or hurt by the split up. This connects to my claim because it shows that all good things come to an end, but you have to adapt and work around it. My second main idea is that good things come to an end for a good cause. I say this because if Onitsuka and Phil Knight didn’t split up, Nike would not have been a thing. We wouldn’t have all the Nike Tech Fleeces and the Nike Fit. Most of the world's shoes would also be gone. That is how much of an impact Nike has created on us. This shows that all good things come to an end for a good cause. The central idea in this article is that you have to work hard and put in effort to become very successful. The first main idea for my central idea is that you need perseverance. I say this because Phil originally wanted to pursue his summer job. but since his dad refused, he went down another path and graduated college with a business degree. This shows that Phil Knight worked very hard to become the founder of Nike. Because he fought through denial, and he also got very good grades to get into one of the top colleges in the United States of America. This college is Stanford. My second main idea is that you need to put in lots of effort and not give up to become successful. This is shown in Phil Knight’s life. I say this because Phil was first inspired by one of the projects he did when he was still a student. It was a project about shoes, and he never really thought about it until he was going to tour the world. He then started calling this a crazy idea and toured the world. While he was in Japan, he decided to try and partner with Onitsuka Tiger to become one of their re-sellers in the US. But Phil was very nervous. Even though Phil was nervous to talk to the Onitsuka representatives, he still did. And if he didn’t talk to Onitsuka that day, we probably wouldn’t know Phil Knight. Or Nike as a whole company. Another example is throughout his whole life. Phil has had financial setbacks, legal setbacks, and personal problems that could have caused him to give up. But he never did. In conclusion, because of Phil Knight working hard and putting in effort to become very successful, we have the brand Nike.

This resource taught me about how sometimes companies get into disagreements and split up. Also, it taught me that most companies only care about money. If their partner doesn't do their job, they will immediately back out of the deal, instead of helping the other company fix their mistakes. This article helped me understand my book more because in the book it talks about how Phil parted ways with Onitsuka. He also does the same in the book, so it was easier to understand. At the end of the book, Blue Ribbon won the rights to keep the names of the shoes and Onitsuka had to pay a fine of $ 400,000 to the company. This article would be helpful in the end of the book. I say this because it helps us understand how and why Phil knight parted ways with Onitsuka.

The central idea in this article is that to make good shoes, you have to work very hard and you have to counter in lots of things. The 1st main idea is that there are many steps involved into creating a good shoe. I say this because in the article it provides 5 steps in creating a lightweight shoe and finding the recyclable content. Other things you have to factor in is for it to be lightweight and not rip apart while an athlete is running. Making it lightweight will also reduce the time it takes to run an event. This is very important, especially in track. As well as how much effort it takes to run. This is very useful in XC. Another main idea is that it takes a lot of hard work and people to create a lightweight shoe as well. For example, you sometimes had to weigh each component of a shoe to get a good one. Shoes designers also have to work day in and day out to create the perfect shoe that will perform very well. And you also need to make the shoe fair. So it doesn’t break any rules and get banned on the competitive side of running. In conclusion, the central idea in this article is that to make good shoes, you have to work very hard and you have to factor in lots of things. Throwing events are just as exciting, with athletes competing to throw objects such as shot put, discus, javelin, and hammer. In throwing events, athletes use different techniques to throw objects as far as they can. In shot put athletes throw a metal steel ball connected to a metal chain. Whoever can throw the ball the farthest wins. Discus throw is similar to shot put, but instead of throwing a ball, athletes throw a disc.
