         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first constellations were named around 1595 by Dutch explorers. Space is a vast and empty place. With no air or sound and very low temperatures, the universe isn’t suitable for humans. Yet people have been on the moon, and spacecraft have flown from Mercury to past Neptune. In my research about space, I learned about black holes, the International Space Station, and other famous spacecraft.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Black holes and neutron stars have very strong gravity that comes from the extreme density. These objects are hard to observe because they obstruct light. For example, black holes have a singularity that is infinitely dense. It causes the black hole to rotate very fast and creates a swirling disk of hot particles around it. Also, if black holes collide, they cause gravitational waves that ripple throughout the universe. In addition, the LIGO observatory measures those waves and can accurately locate the position of the black holes. Neutron stars are densely packed star cores that create extremely heavy, rotating objects. Furthermore, neutron stars can also crash and create gravitational waves. Yet they are so slight, that you can’t even feel them.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The International Space Station, ISS, is a satellite orbiting the Earth. Life in the ISS is drastically different from that on earth. Food for astronauts is different from normal food on Earth. For example, all food is dehydrated and has to be heated, while drinks are in special containers with special straws. Additionally, the ISS took about $5 billion to build, and it had to be done in space. 250 miles above Earth, the station was built mainly by the U.S.A, Canada, and Russia. Also, the ISS is a place to do experiments. Scientists there tested cell growth and which plants are the most efficient to grow, just to name a few.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Spacecraft and space probes have been to other parts solar system. There are rovers on Mars, satellites to Neptune, and rockets to Mercury. Launched on September 5, 1977, Voyager 1 is the farthest man-made object. Originally, it was sent out to study the gas giants’ moons, rings, and magnetic fields. Another probe that was sent out was Cassini. It was created to take pictures of Saturn, its moons, and its rings in detail. Additionally, Mariner 10 was another spacecraft sent to study a planet. It was sent to Mercury, and it was the first one there. It mapped about 45% of Mercury’s surface, and it also got to study Venus on the way there. Furthermore, the Hubble Space Telescope is a telescope that orbits Earth and takes pictures of stars, planets, and galaxies as far as 12.6 billion light-years (12,600,000,000). It orbits above the Earth because the lack of air makes clearer pictures.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my research, I learned about black holes and neutron stars, the ISS, and well-known spacecraft. Space is an unimaginably large place. With the nearest star being 4.246 light-years away, intense cold and radiation, and no air, it’s hard to explore. Black holes and meteors are also obstacles. But sending spacecraft can help us unravel the mysteries of the universe.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
