In this stage the baby is age 0-18months. This is when babies grow the fastest. During this stage you develop skills such as talking, walking, trusting, and eating. I remeber when I had my daughter and she use to scream when I was putting her in the tub, but after she developed trust she became excited to get put in the tub.

At this stage the toddler is 18 months-3 years old. This is when she starts exploring freedom from the parents. She is trying to do things on her own. When my child was being potty trained she was afraid until we praised her for trying to go on her own. After awhile, she got the hang of it. It was funny when she would come and get me after she used it and she would clap to make sure I was still proud. "Anatomy is Destiny" Freud

This is the stage where the child is learning physical and intellectual skills. They are finding their identity. They are 7-13 years of age and going through puberty. I remember my child came home from school crying because another kid called her fat. I told her to tell the kid at least she wasn't hungry. She went to school the following day and told the child what I said and they are friends today. Later I found out that all she wanted from me was a hug not advice.
She knew how to defend herself without my help. “Children love and want to be loved and they very much prefer the joy of accomplishment to the triumph of hateful failure.” Erik Erikson

In this stage of life she is concerned about life. She's losing parents, children are growing up. She's worried about guiding her family down the right path. This is the stage I'm in right now. I thank God that I haven't lost a parent but trying to guide my children is a task within itself. “Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I’ll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select—doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors.” John Watson

You learn to accept death , or don't accept death and be in despair because of life failures. “Coping with the demands of everyday life would be exceedingly trying if one could arrive at solutions to problems only by actually performing possible options and suffering the consequences.” Albert Bandura
