Students as we are, social integration helped us connect with our colleagues and classmates. Most of us came from different places so meeting online kept us connected.

Social networking also helped us connect with people with similar interest same us ours'. Some of us even joined international online servers to talk to people from different countries. In that way we can discover new things and new people, and also keep us updated on new trends.

1. How has social networking impacted your own social integration?

- Social networking has really helped me socially because it's easier to connect especially with my classmates about what's up with school, also the groups I joined like kpop communities where we all have the same interests even though we're in different places, it's like we're together and that's because of social networking because it connects everyone. But at the same time I've also noticed that I've become dependent on socializing online and it's affecting me because I'm having a hard time socializing face to face.

2. What are some potential negative consequences of excessive social networking?

-One of the negative consequences of too much social networking is that I have also experienced that it is difficult to connect with other people face to face, it is difficult to build relationships with others face to face because we have become accustomed to or dependent on online. And this also has an effect because it is difficult to know the true motives of a person online because it is only online, especially now that scams are popular. That is why it is really good to meet the person in person so that you can really get to know the person.

3. How can we use social networking responsibly and effectively to build positive relationships?

-For me one important thing that everyone needs to remember when using social networking is not to share too much online, because other people can use it against you, especially personal information that should not be shared online because there are many scammers out there. Privacy and security need to be protected.

Another thing is to be respectful, always remeber that social networking use it to build relationships online, not to make it a platform to hurt other people.

Some negative consequences are interacting with real life people. When the pandemic came, we rely on social media platforms to communicate to other people which is a big help. But during the time where we are transitioning back to normal, it became hard for me to socialize as we do virtually. I also became reliant on using just social media. I became shy and unable to talk. Too much reliance on social networking can lower self-esteem of a person.

One thing about social networking is sometimes we forgot to set boundaries with people and privacy. We share too much information online that we can vulnerable to other people. Though we practice connection, we must set limitations to protect ourselves and also the people we connect with. But the most important thing about social networking is to be ourselves. Yes, we can have 'virtual self' different from our normal self but we must never forget to be genuine to create a positive connection
