Throughout the film, Peter's rebellious behavior eventually led to bad consequences. Being "forced" into the HJ, after stealing a radio that was originally taken from a rebel's home, Peter saw the hideous side of what the Nazi regime really meant. Although he already resented the Nazi way, what Peter witnessed in the film made his life a living hell. However, He stayed strong and pushed through the hard times. Even after the death of his friend, Arvid, and the becoming bitterness of Thomas, (and to add, that creepy ash mail) Peter stuck to what he and his father had hoped, and that longing made up his mind to not back down- even when he himself was taken away at the very end.

Peter changes a lot throughout the film with his experience going into the HJ. Peter made some bad decisions as being a swing kid and he was fine with Thomas and having Thomas sometimes picking on Arvid. Later in the movie he was defending Arvid and not Thomas because Thomas was becoming a Nazi. Peter had a moment in the movie where he did not know what was right or wrong, if the Jews were bad and the Nazis were good. Peter thought just about the same through out the movie but later he started standing up for what he believed in, for example he stood up for himself and showed he was still a swing kid and got taken away. Later Peter realized what the Nazi party was used for, and the "books" he was delivering were actually ashes. Peter decided who he was and stood up for himself as a swing kid.

Peter's character had good intentions until the end. He consistently stood up for what was right, be it going to swing clubs or concealing evidence of forgery from the HJ. The way he changes is that he goes through a phase where he doubts what's right and wrong, and who is the real enemy. Being in the HJ confuses his morals, but in the end he realizes (from a letter written by his 'Jew-Loving' father) that Hitler and what he stands for is unacceptable. The reason Peter didn't run away in the end is because he realized that even with his death, the 'swing' rebellion wouldn't stop, and would eventually grow into a force opposing Hitler

Peter's character throughout the film changes drastically as events occur. As a swing kid, he was rebellious with his actions by going to these events. Him and Thomas get into trouble by stealing a radio, forcing them into the academy for becoming a HJ. After enrolling into this elite school, Peter's heart begins to change as he continues to go to this school. Training at the HJ soon began to change Thomas's heart and soon Peter was in between a battle within himself on what to believe. Near the end of the film, he realizes what the Nazi party was up to after starting to deliver packages of family members ashes to their front door, and the realization of Peter's fathers death. Once he realized this and the cause of his actions, he began to find it in himself that who couldn't hide who he really was. So, he set off to his last sing dance performance and knew what the consequences were of attending, but he wanted to remain true to himself in what he loved.

Peter is independent and strong-willed. In the beginning, Peter believed that being a Nazi was bad. Through the movie he continued to believe that, even when all his friends began to turn away from him. When Thomas began to turn Nazi, Peter and Thomas started to grow apart and Peter was defending Arvid because Arvid still thinks that being a swing kid is being a Nazi. For the rest of the film, Peter continues to carry his strong beliefs with him until the Nazis took him away for his rebellious acts. He didn't run away in the end because he knew he was trying to do the things his father wanted before he passed away.

His emotions and characteristics change rapidly throughout the film. Peter was a rebellious swing kid until he got in trouble and had to become an H.J. Even thought he is a Nazi no he still believes in what the swing kids are doing. He doesn't run away in the end because if he did it would mean abandoning what he and his father believed in and he couldn't bear to do that.

When his friends left his side he started questioning what was right and what was wrong, in the end he didn't run away because he figured out that fighting back and getting taken was the right thing for him to do, because even though being in the HJ labeled him a Nazi he did not believe that it was the side he should be on.

One reason why his dad was killed was because he was a Jewish lover. Peter has a job delivering books at the book store. Peter gets in trouble by steeling a radio and is required to become a HJ. The word "HJ" is a short term for Hitlerjugend or (Hitler youth). Because of his bad behavior and not because he wants to join, Thomas also joins the HJ because of their friendship. Peter realizes that after he joins the HJ, his friends become different, especially Arvid (the crippled). At the end of the film, Peter still trusts his friend Thomas. Thomas was brainwash by Nazi Government at the end of the film.

As the leader of the group, Peter is Arvid and Thomas's source of balance between eachother. Peter is protective of his family and extremely loyal to his friends. To show his resistance towards the Nazis, Peter and his friends go to illegal swing clubs at night, living a "rebellious" life. When Peter and Thomas get into trouble stealing a radio, Peter joins the H.J. with Thomas so he does not leave his friend to suffer for something he was apart of too. While Thomas and Arvid begin to go separate ways between the H.J. and Swing, Peter keeps a grounding balance of friendship between them. Peter's emotions change dramatically throughout the film where in the beginning, he is strictly against the Nazis and their practice. After joining the H.J. to not be suspicious for stealing the radio, he vows to keep balance being "H.J. by day and swing kids by night." Being surrounded even more by Nazi beliefs, Peter gets caught up in confusing feelings, but less against the Nazis than he previously had been before. Later in the film after Arvid kills himself and he has to deliver ashes of fathers and husbands to families, Peter begins to show his extreme dislike for the Nazis once again. In representation of his resistance, he goes to a swing club to dance. Peter gets caught up in the mess when the Nazis arrive and does not choose to run when Thomas gives him the chance. In the end and despite the mixed emotions, Peter gets taken away doing what he loves and standing up for his beliefs although it would not end well in his favor.

Peter was the connecting bond between Arvid and Thomas, making him into the leader figure of the group. In the beginning of the film he represents the middle between the Nazi life and the Swing kid life, being in the HJ, but also a Swing kid. Naturally, with his neutral position, he favors balance and harmony. This is especially seen when he tries to calm the feuds between Arvid and Thomas. In his home life, he lives with his mother, brother, and grandmother, his father had died years ago. He sees himself as the "man of the house", being the oldest sibling. He doesn't believe in the Nazi ideals that are appearing all around him through propaganda or casual conversations, but later is forced to join the HJ when he gets caught for stealing a radio. His friend Thomas also joins, not wanting to leave him alone, but ultimately gets dragged into the swirl of Nazi illusion, and turns on many people that he is close to. This leaves Peter's emotions confused and conflicted when each of his friends are so strongly aligned with opposite sides, leaving Peter to finally pick which path he wants to follow. When forced to deliver the ashes of "traitors" to their families, he realizes he was once in their position when he lost his father, and goes to a dance party to drown his emotions in swing. The HJ suddenly appear and start taking people away, and Peter is confronted with Thomas, who in turn attacks him. Peter had earlier told Thomas that if he becomes a Nazi they will be enemies. After much fighting, Thomas yells for Peter to escape, but he doesn't budge. He feels that he is done running and cowering under the Nazi's gaze. He wants to stand up as his father once did and not allow others to take away what is most precious to him.

Eventually, separation started between them and there was nothing he could do about it. Thomas didn't like Arvid and he would always bully him because he was physically disabled. When he got in trouble, he got put into the HJ and in doing this made him start to think like a Nazi and act like one too. This made him depressed and get more short tempered. He eventually just gives up on trying to keep up on keeping everything together when Arvid kills himself and he then gets busted by the HJ.

He, like all of his friends, was rebellious, and chose to express his rebelliousness and his disdain towards the Nazi Party through dancing to swing music. He is a very responsible person despite that, and always tries to protect his family and friends. Towards the end of the film, he is forced to join the Hitlerjugend and is changed by this experience. He learns that the world is a much more dangerous place than he imagined, and becomes more serious about things, although this does not stop him from attending swing clubs, and staying a rebel. In the end, Peter does not run away from the Nazis because he is ready to take responsibility and openly confront the Nazis in one final act of rebellion.

He was loyal to his friends, family, and swing. He was rebellious toward the Nazi Party. Peter stayed faithful to his beliefs and always did what was right in his mind. Later, Peter had to join the HJ. He then became a swing kid at night and part of the HJ during day. He did not believe in the ideas of the HJ but he held in his ideas for his safety. Peter was close to his friends and cared very much for them. Once Arvid killed himself, Peter was heart broken. At this point, Peter shows that even though he was in the HJ he stayed loyal and cared. Thomas on the other hand slowly gave into the HJ. Even though Peters best friend died and his other best friend betrayed him he still remained a good man. Peter was greatly influenced by the thoughts and ideas of his father. He realized that instead of running away that he should rebel and be open. He is given the opportunity to run, like he normally does, but he instead lets the Nazis take him to a work camp.

At the beginning you could tell that he was the leader of the group. He was very calm and wanted the group to be balanced so it would seem that he would take sides when he was not and just wanted the balance in the group. He was a very proud swing kid who was very loyal to his friends and very protective of his family. He was a very responsible young man, but was also very wild and wanted to have fun with his friends. All throughout the film he was confused about his father and what had happened to him and why it happened to him. At the beginning he was very rebellious towards the Nazi party, they would go to swing dances, wear baggy clothes, and grew their hair long. But in the middle, when he was in the HJ he would pretend to support what the Nazis were doing but he just could not support what they were doing. He was very faithful to what his beliefs were and followed them with everything he was going through. with his father gone him having to be the man of the house puts extra pressure on him, so being in the HJ and being a swing kid and not getting caught was very hard for him and it stressed him out.

Peter began as the leader of his group of friends who were Thomas and Peter, desired to become an engineer, and was extremely passionate about his swing dancing. Also, he liked to flirt with girls as well as have fun but still making sure to maintain balance and fairness in his life. As the story progressed, Peter became less the leader of the group as Arvid became more and more distant until he perished and Thomas began to change into a person who was pro-Nazism. Peter was less focused on what he wanted to do for his future as the events around him began to intensify and become more prevalent. Also, you can see Peter's interest in women lessen later in the story when at the end he is dancing by himself. Peter was protective of his family in the beginning but became even more so when the Gestapo man entered his family's life and he learned more about his father. The discoveries and realizations Peter made as well as what he was taught caused him to oppose and hate the Nazi force even more. I believe at the end Peter chose to not run away because he realized he couldn't continue his life style and he wanted to help open Thomas' eyes to the reality.

Throughout the film Peters character evolved while being a very responsible man. Peter was very involved in being a swing kid and promised that the HJ would never get in the way of who he was. He was the calm one of the group and never wanted to take sides with his friends. He was very loyal to his family and friends and took part in the rebellion to the Nazi Party. Peter out of anyone understands loss, his father was taken away from his family and he died because he believed that Jews were equal humans as to anyone else. Peter has first hand of the loss and suffering people go through because of the Nazi's and he does not want to be part of that in any way. Once he was forced to join the HJ his good friend Thomas joined with him and they both promised they would be HJ members at day and swing kids by night. After awhile he lost his bestfirend to the ideas of the Nazis, they changed who Thomas was and made Peter realize who his real friends were. After getting caught at a Swing kid gathering and Thomas and him got into a tussle Thomas told Peter to run away before he got caught and was taken to a camp. Peter didn't run and he was captured and put into a truck to be hauled to a concentration camp because unlike Thomas he still believed in what he stood for after all the time during the Nazification of Germany.

At the beginning of the film, Peter acted as the leader of the swing kid trio between him, Arvid, and Thomas. Throughout the film it is shown that Peter had lost his father to the Nazis. Peter feels a deep hatred for the Nazi party. He is very loyal to his family and to his swing. He felt that the Jews were equal and they did nothing wrong. In the end of the film he stood for what he believed in. He was taken away after he was caught at a swing party. He did not run in the end because he believed what he was doing was right and he would not conform to what the Nazi's wanted him to be. He sat with a smile in the truck that drove him away. He inspired his brother to "swing heil"

Peter's start consisted of Arvid, Thomas and himself. He kind of provided guidance with the swing like when and where to go. He also knew what the Nazis were about. They took family members Peter knew that first hand because his father was taken away for believing that the Jews have done nothing wrong and that they were still human beings in the end. Peter held a hatred for the Nazis. Thomas and Peter had the idea to steal a radio that was taken from a house of a Jew and given to the woman who owned the local bakery. Peter was put in the local HJ because he was caught, Thomas decided to follow Peter and where Peter stood for what he believed in Thomas began to believe what the HJ was teaching him and he became an enemy of Swing. Peter only wanted to warn Arvid when Thomas began to harass him. Peter began to realize who is friends were when he saw who Thomas was becoming, he did not want that for himself. In the end Peter was caught at a Swing club and him and Thomas began to fight and I think in that part of the movie it wasn't just a physical fight, I believe it was also a emotional fight for what they believed in.Peter was captured and he did not run away because he knew that he was doing the right thing in standing up for the Swing and thats what he believed when his brother came I think Willy knew Peter was doing the right thing and he will always believe his brother did the right thing.

At the beginning, Peter was the leader of his swing kids group of himself, Arvid, and Thomas. Peter had felt that the Jews were equal to the Nazis. He had a very strong passion for swing, which happened to be illegal in Germany at the time. He had been forced to join into the HJ, and his friend Thomas had joined the HJ with him. However, Thomas was more loyal to the HJ than Peter was. Peter still went to dance to the jazz music. I think that it would have been better for Peter to get captured because then it would not have been a secret that he hated the Nazis and that he went and danced to jazz music often. Also, when he was being taken off after he was captured, he had tried to inspire his little brother to get into swing music like he was.

In the beginning Peter was a teenager that just like to swing with his friends while Hitlers rein was going on. Then throughout the film he was doing many illegal things like going to swing clubs an peeing in public but later is caught stealing a radio with his other friend and is put into a camp that trains young children to become Nazis. During this training he stays the same still believing that the Jews are as equal as anyone else. He also being a Nazi in training he was suppose to report any thing that he saw and heard. But when he had a job delivering books he discovered that within the books there were illegal documents. He choose not to report anything that he had seen in the bookstore or anywhere. In the end Peter still believed that his father was right about how the Nazis were wrong and stood up for what he believed in by going to the club again and getting everyone to start swinging again. Then when the Nazis showed up and started to catch everyone. Peter and his friend were fighting and his friend tells his to run but Peter stays because he believed being captured was better then living a double life of being a Nazi by day and a swing kid by night. Peter didn't want to spy on everyone and do awful things the Nazis would make him do.

At the beginning of the movie peter was a swing kid with his two friends, who would go to underground clubs to dance to illegal American swing music. He hated the Nazis and would rebel against them by listening to swing music, peeing on their propaganda, wear long hair, and would stand up against Nazis beating up swing kids. Then Peter and his friend Thomas decided to steal a radio from a Nazi house. When he is running with the radio he trips and gets caught, and is forced to join the HJ. Thomas joined the HJ so that peter wasn´t alone. And they started having less time for swing music, but Peter still didn´t like the Nazis. Towards the end Peter has to deliver boxes for the Nazis. He gets suspicious as to whats in the box so he opens it and finds somebodys ashes, he runs to his friends house to tell her about it. After he tells her about it she gives him a letter that his dad wrote before he died. The letter said that his dad loved Peter and that Peter should stand up against the Nazis. Then this inspires Peter to go back the clubs and listen to swing music again. While he is there the club gets shut down by Nazi police and Peter gets in a fight with Thomas who is still a Nazi. Then, after their fight Peter gets taken away and put into a truck. I think the reason that he didn´t try to run was because the letter from his dad and he wanted to stand up against the Nazis even if they took him to work camp.

He believed the the Jews didn't deserved to be punished as they had done nothing wrong. He was always loyal to his family and his job, even when he was forced into the HJ and showed what he was really doing by delivering books. Then his friends turned on him and Arvid killed himself, however Peter still remained loyal to swing kids. I believe that Peter didn't run in the end because that would be hiding his true self, Peter was tired of hiding that he is a swing kid and hates the Nazis. Peter felt that by not doing what the Nazis wanted he had done nothing wrong and therefore deserved no punishment.

In Swing Kids, Peter was a teenager who lived during the rein of Hitler. He was a swing kid who danced to American music which was illegal. He rebelled against the Nazis by continuing to swing dance. Later he was forced to joined the HJ which was pretty much German boy scouts, evil German boy scouts. The HJ stood for everything the Peter hated about the Nazis but he had no choice and had to join. Peter sees suspicious things such as birth certificates in the books that he delivers. That is something that he should have reported to the HJ. He does not report them because he knows that it will result in them being sent to a work camp. He does not like what the HJ is doing but he did not yet have the courage to do anything about it. He continued on his path until an event occurred that changed his whole mind set. He was delivering boxes when one of the women that had just received one screamed. He was curious about what was in it so he opened it up. Inside he saw ashes and it completely mortified him. That was when he made the silent decision to stand up for his beliefs and not care about the outcome. Later on he went swing dancing and the Nazis came barging in and started to beat everyone up. Peter fought against his friend Thomas and eventually was captured. Through this he showed Thomas he was willing to stand up for his beliefs no matter the cost. Even though he was sent to a work camp his actions showed other that the Nazis were not always right and they should stand up for their beliefs.

He disliked the HJ and the teachings of Hitler because he blamed them for taking his father away from him. Peter and his friends would always go to swing clubs to dance and listen to the music that was not allowed in Germany. Peter was forced into the HJ after being caught by them while trying to steal a radio. His friend Thomas joined with him because he did not want Peter to go through it alone. Peter promised to never let the HJ change him and even though he was now part of the HJ, Peter still went to the swing clubs at night. Peter is someone that can relate to losing someone they loved, so when he open that package and saw the ashes it hit him in a big way. He would then go to the swing club one last time for the HJ would sweep through the swing club and arrest anybody they could catch. Thomas caught Peter and even though he was his friend he would continue beat him him. Peter was then apprehended by other HJ. Peter did not try to run because he stood for what he believed in and did not want to act like someone he wasn't.

In the beginning of the movie, Peter was a kid who was in love with American Jazz music. Him and his two friends, Thomas and Arvid would always go to ¨swing¨ clubs. Now, going to these clubs was illegal. But they did not care. Peter had a passion for swing and music. He was totally against Hitler and everything that went along with him. But he was forced to join the HJ. When he did his best friend Thomas also joined him. Peter went along with what the HJ had to say, but still didn't believe it. Thomas however was starting to believe everything they said. They still went dancing and had fun. Until Thomas decided to stop. Peter started to feel like he was getting to involved. One night Peter was at a club alone and the club was stormed by the HJ. Peter saw Thomas and they started fighting. They took it outside and Thomas was winning. He eventually stopped and told Peter to run. But Peter just sat there and let them drag him off. I think Perter didn't run because he was standing up for swing and everyone who enjoyed it. He was making a statement.
