In my opinion there are many different ways to feel fulfilment in the kitchen. Fulfilment for me in the kitchen is when i feel like i've accomplished something properly, but also when i've learned and overcome difficult situations in the kitchen.

For example just last week i felt fulfilment when we where practicing our egg skills and I for some reason couldn't mange to make a perfect fried egg, so when I got the approval on my last egg i felt fulfilled for that moment.

Another moment I felt fulfilment is when Jeremy and I finished our Potato pancakes. This brought me fulfilment because throughout the process i've learned more about the potato but also i saw the product from start to finish. Then to see the pancakes turn out good i was ecstatic.

Then the last and the most fulfilled moment i've had in the kitchen is last summer when I was tossed in a rough situation when the restaurant I worked at was understaffed and the chef needed someone to step up and work more and I took that opportunity. Then at the end of summer to hear the owner and the chef say thank you i've felt fulfilled and proud.

Soft skills in the kitchen are very important because it can make or break a service.

In my opinion, I would say my best soft skill is my communication skills. I believe i'm good at this skill because i'm not afraid to ask questions and speak up in difficult situations. I will say though I do still need to practice this skill a little bit more because outside the kitchen i'm not the best at public speaking but i would like to change that.

My second soft skill I have is my time management skills. I will say that wearing my watch in the kitchen does help a lot for this skill. This skill is important in the kitchen because it helps me start and do multiply prep projects at once and do them correctly without burning any of it. Then my time management skill helps me plan out my day in the kitchen from ordering out the way I do prep and cook on the line.

Then my final soft skill would be my teamwork skill. This skill helps in the kitchen because it helps everyone get projects done form prep work to even cleaning. My problem with this skill is that once I start helping someone, I sometimes forget that I have my own work that I have to get done. This skill is important in all situations but i just have to be more careful with my time management.

In the kitchen there is one main moment that connects to the word successful and that seeing happy customers and co-workers happy while working/eating. Then successful outside of the kitchen for me is completing a goal that i've wanted for a long time.

In my opinion it does't matter how hard the service is because if I see happy customers eating and leaving the restaurant I feel joyful as should as my co-workers.

For example, this year a moment i felt successful is when in the baking rotation, it was our first time doing service and my group was confused preparing for it and serving as well but I felt successful because my partners where having fun the full time but also the people we where serving where smiling as well.

A moment that connects to word successful outside of the kitchen is when I got accepted into the culinary program. That moment for me is more successful than fulfilment because i've wanted to be accepted for awhile where fulfilment is almost in the moment felling for me. Then next successful movement in my career will be my O.j.t placement because i've been wanting to start this process for awhile now.

Since coming to Holland College to take the Culinary Arts course there has been many important certifications we had to get to be able to cook in the kitchen and these count as hard skills.

The first hard skill is our first aid certification. This skill is important to have because when ever someone goes into stress, or starts chocking we now have the proper knowledge on how to handle the situation.

The second hard skill we had to learn was P.E.I ohs certification. This is important for us students because we needed to pass this test to go in the kitchen but is also showed us the health and safety regulations in P.E.I.

The third hard skill we had to take was train-can course. This course was important because if we passed we would receive our food handler certificate. This skill was important because it was introduction to the rules and regulation of the kitchen.

The final hard skill we had to have to go into the kitchen would be are Work place hazards certification. This skill was important because it should us the dangerous chemicals and hazards that we see and work with in the kitchen.

When thinking of thinking of food photography there is one name that comes to mind and that is Andrew Scrivani. If you want to work in this sector professional the best way is to get started with a social media marketing team and one is hiring in Toronto called Wonder Share Technology. The other way to get involved in food photography is by using your own social media platforms to show your photos to the public.

There is no real qualifications to become a food photographer but there is schools and courses to help you with this skill. For example Holland College has a photography course to show you how to take fantastic photos but also the culinary arts program where it teaches us how to plate properly.

I do believe this industry would fit my personality and skill set because I always loved photography and food, so when you put them together its a perfect match for me. I believe this job would work well with me because I can work well with other people and i've had photography and graphic design practice before.
