PE- Students will work on flexibility during team game playing. They will discover that they will have to work together in order to make the game successful. Usually, they only work on improving their individual skills.
Music- 2-5 Students are beginning to play the instruments. They must learn how to be flexible when they don’t get assigned the instrument part they may have preferred.
STEM- 2nd grade is making a toy using the engineering design process. They are now to the “improve” stage which will help develop their flexibility.
Art- Students will learn how to deconstruct their art into simple shapes using different stationary objects. This will help them learn both perseverance and flexibility.

We will read the book "Bunny Cakes" and define flexibility.
In reading, we will tell the students they will read with a different partner today. We will pair them with another student. The teacher will ask the students how that made them feel? What would happen if we never got to read or talk with another partner?
Activity: Give the students a large piece of saran wrap to tightly hold. Place large weights on the saran wrap and have them notice how the saran wrap does not break, but is flexible like their brain. Then, have them do the same with tissue paper and show how it is not flexible.
Number Talks: Teacher says- "There is only one way to make 10." Have the students challenge you. What would happen if we only accepted one right answer?
