         <description><![CDATA[<div>(1789-1791)<br>The meeting of the national assembly allowed for new laws to be placed.<br>This is important because a new law divided the country into 83 districts with equal and fair elections.<br>This was a condition because they knew that without change the French Revolution would never end, so they decided to change the conditions in which France governs.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>First Estate- Clergy</strong><br>The Clergy were people who ran the Catholic Church and some aspects of France. They did not have to pay taxes, meaning they typically lived very luxurious lives.<br><strong>Second Estate- Nobility</strong><br>The Nobility was the royal family besides the King. They also did not have to pay taxes and they were allowed to wear a sword and hunt.<br><strong>Third Estate- Citizens (everyone else)<br></strong>The citizens made up 98% of the population. They were forced to pay taxes and did not have as many privileges as the first two estates. The third estate had equal votes as the first two estates, even though they made up more of the population.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>(1789)<br>The meeting of the estates general was a meeting between the three estates representing the population, in order to solve the poverty of France.<br>This is important because the third estate felt that they weren't being fairly represented, and they decided to break off.&nbsp;<br>This was a trigger because the third estate, representing 98% of the population, decided to break away and fight for change.</div>]]></description>
